Those familiar with the Warhammer universe know that Winds of Magic are the energy that fuels the spells in the game, but this has been the name chosen for the first expansion of Warhammer: Vermintide 2. The first-person action title from Fatshark sequel to Warhammer: End Tides – Vermintide is expanding its content this month and the developers have published a video that showcases some of the enemies and features that it will add to the game.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 – Winds of Magic
seems to focus on the forces of chaos, more exactly on a new enemy faction: the Beastmen. We are expected to find plenty of Gors, Ungors, and other enemies mutated by the influence of Chaos. The expansion will also add a new progression system for the heroes with many skills to unlock, as well as a new weapon for each of them: Kerillian gets a shield and spear, Sienna will use a flaming flail, Bardin will equip a pair throwing axes, Saltzpyre will have a billhook, and Kruber will pierce enemies with a heavy spear. The level cap will be raised from 30 to 35 too.

But new enemies and weapons are not the only things that Warhammer: Vermintide 2 – Winds of Magic is bringing to the base game. Those already experienced in fighting against the forces of Chaos will be glad to know that this expansion also comes with a higher difficulty level and a new game mode where you will fight endless waves of enemies accompanied by your friends. The difficulty of the enemies will increase with every wave until a point where it will be impossible for you to beat them.

Winds of Magic – Minotaur

Even though we know that Warhammer: Vermintide 2 – Winds of Magic is launching this month on PC, Xbox One, and PS4, there is no official release date confirmed yet. There is a beta planned for August 13th for those that have pre-ordered the game so you can expect it to be released soon after that.
