Gamescom 2019 is leaving a very good taste in our mouths. Plenty of announcements and reveals are happening already and we expect more to come until the event finishes next Saturday. On the occasion of the event, we will even get to play to some of the most anticipated titles that will release in the following months. That is the case of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. During the Opening Night Live conference at the Gamescom, it was announced that there will be an alpha test this weekend. All PlayStation 4 owners will be able to give a try to the upcoming installment in the Call of Duty series from August 23 to 25.

During Call of Duty: Modern Warfare alpha all participants will be able to experience the Gunfight Mode that was revealed not too long ago. This 2v2 multiplayer competitive mode is a new feature that will be appearing for the first time in the series. In this mode, two pairs of players fight in very small maps in rounds of 40 seconds. The first team that gets 6 victories wins the match. If the timer ends without a team being eliminated during any round a flag will appear in the middle of the scenario and whoever secures it will win the round. Both teams are given the same randomized weapon loadout at the beginning of every round so you will know what to expect but your skill with the different weapons and your ability to adapt your gameplay to multiple scenarios will be very important. Also, the minimap will be turned off in this mode, so be ready to pay attention to what’s happening around you and communicate with your partner if you want to have a chance of winning.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare alpha will allow players to fight in five different maps, including Pine, King, Stack, and two maps never played before: Docks and Speedball.

This alpha will be an awesome opportunity of trying Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer for the first time and it will be available for free on PlayStation 4. You won’t even need a PS+ subscription to participate.
