Modus Games announced a new installment in the Trine series not too long ago, but we didn´t have an opportunity to see our three heroes in action until now. Yesterday, they released a video that showcases 18 minutes of gameplay of Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince at the E3, and the new adventure of Amadeus, Pontius and Zoya looks quite impressive.

In the video, you can see Kai and Anti from Frozenbyte, the studio developing the game, explaining the multiple new capabilities of our heroes as they solve puzzles and progress through the game. As you probably know, Pontius is a knight that wields sword and shield, Amadeus is a mage with telekinetic powers, and Zoya is a thief that uses grappling hooks, bow, and arrows. You can swap between them anytime and combine their abilities to solve puzzles as you advance through the different scenarios. You will also unlock many different skills that will offer you a whole new world of possibilities. Your mission in Trine 4: The Nightmare Prinze is to save Prince Selius, whose nightmares are escaping the land of dreams and invading the real world.

This epic adventure is something that you don’t have to play alone tho, because Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince also has a multiplayer mode where up to 4 friends can play and solve the dynamic physics-based environmental puzzles together. As you can see, Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince has dropped the 3D graphics that were used in the previous game in the series in favor of 2.5D visuals that are much more similar to the original graphics in the first title in the Trine saga. The game is stunning, and it features gorgeous landscapes, detailed characters, and fantastic animations with a beautiful art style.

If you like platform games and solving puzzles, Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince is a game that you can´t miss. There is no release date for the game yet, but we know that it´s coming this fall. Until then, you can practice your skills with the previous Trine games.
