Yes, it’s been already five years since The Sims 4 was released. At the end of the day, it’s nothing compared to the longevity of The Sims series, which is now almost twenty years old. Some of us have even grown up with this series which has been evolving and improving over the years to provide an ever-richer and more varied life simulation experience.

On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the last title of the series, The Sims 4, a free update has been released. In addition to solving a number of bugs, this anniversary update brings new objects and features to the game. Maxis, who is eager to represent in his game the various origins and cultures of his players, wanted to incorporate elements inspired by Arab-Muslim culture. We will find some customization objects for our Sims in the “Create a Sim” tool such as hijab and kufi, as well as building elements inspired by oriental architecture. Decorative objects have also been added. This is not the first time that Maxis integrates elements from different cultures; the City Living DLC had already brought to the game Asian elements, and more recently Island Living was inspired by the culture of the islands.

In addition to all these objects, this update introduces a functionality much awaited by the players. The stairs are now configurable, which means that you can create stairs of any shape you want, like U-shaped, in L, zig-zag, or with as many steps as you want. You can also adjust the length of each landing. This is good news for the players, and this feature may be very popular especially with the launch of the next DLC, The Sims 4 – Realm of Magic, which as its name suggests will introduce a little bit of magic in the universe of The Sims, allowing you to become a wizard. Realm of Magic will also include a brand new neighborhood composed of islands floating in the space and accessible via a portal, as well as many magic-themed objects and features.

The Sims 4 – Realm of Magic will be released on September 10 on PC via Origin and on October 15 on Xbox One and PS4. You can find this DLC and all the others currently available on our comparator.
