Black Desert Online – now out on Xbox One!

Good news for Xbox One users! You now have a new game to get your hands on with the popular Black Desert Online. The MMORPG title just officially launched on Xbox One platform today and people can’t stop raving about how awesome the visuals and how epic the combat scenes are.

Pearl Abyss’ Black Desert Online launched today

Black Desert Online was created by Pearl Abyss, a studio that’s based in South Korea. It’s an online fantasy adventure and a massively multiplayer game that can have 100,000 players at any one time. It was released after two beta tests where more than 300,000 players gathered to experience it first-hand. It finally came out in four editions: Base game, Standard, Deluxe, and the Ultimate Edition.

As for the price, the Base game sells for $9.99 and includes only the access to the game without any additions. The Standard edition is priced at $29.99 and comes with a Snow Wolfdog pet, a 30-day value pack with increased inventory and storage slots, and a 30{c4f60b86d58bd0bb42d7d202d81274380459a85a5d81d139dd8bd0c48cc6a02e} boost. The Deluxe edition costs $49.99 and includes everything in the Standard edition and other bonuses. However, if you decide to add $20 to that, you will get a Tier 3 horse and the complete Calpheon Charger’s Horse Gear Set. Not bad for twenty bucks, I should say. The last one, the Ultimate edition costs $99.99 and has everything from the Deluxe edition plus the following:

  • Belle Epoque Wagon Set
  • Kalstein Outfit
  • Junaid Cat Pet
  • Permanent Horse Flute
  • 30 tree – type XP scrolls
  • Storage maid

Additional updates will be released mid-summer this year

Some of the features of the game include a worldwide weather system that has large-scale events like typhoons and others that can affect and influence the gameplay. Temporary fog can help players launch surprise attacks to opposing players and rival guild structures. There’s also a unique day/night cycle shown by the gradual progression of lighting effects. There are game contents that are only available at a specific time of the day. Players get to engage in mounted combat, and they can get a special mount by mating certain types/breed. They will have to feed and care for their mounts and store them properly because monsters can attack and kill them if left unattended.

Pearl Abyss intends to release new contents for Black Desert Online by mid-summer 2019, but it will be some time until the Xbox One version catches up with the PC one, if it ever does it. If you are looking for a nice MMORPG to play on your console Black Desert Online fills the role perfectly, but unless you want to start from scratch again for some reason, I would recommend to players with previous experience on the game to consider if they are willing to go back to BDO like it was three years ago on PC.

EA admits Athem’s problems on PS4

Yesterday we informed you about the problems that Anthem was causing on PlayStation 4. Some users were claiming on Reddit that the game allegedly was causing serious crashes on their consoles, forcing a reset. The issues had not been confirmed through any official channels or anything, but it seems that this is one of those “rumor has it” moments. Yesterday night EA admitted that the problem is there, and they even opened a thread on their official technical forums to gather info from the users about the issues they are experiencing.

With the problems that happened during the beta events previous to the release of Anthem and the issues that it’s experiencing after that, Anthem’s first steps into the competitive videogame market are being quite shaky and that could have a serious impact in the future of one of the most anticipated games of 2019. Given the current state of the things, it´s not strange that some people are even considering a refund, not wanting to wait for the issues to get fixed.

Bugs are more fearsome than this monster

It´s kind of surprising and not uncommon that an AAA title launches with this kind of serious bug. It´s true that it can probably be fixed with a simple path, but the people at Bioware are making a disservice to themselves launching Anthem if it has not been tested enough for this kind of problems to surface during the development phase. We all know that there are schedules to meet, that publishers put a lot of pressures on the developers, and that money and time are always short, but in the end, delivering a game with this kind of problems can heavily affect its success. Players get annoyed and feel like they are paying to test an unfinished product, the game gets bad press, the developer gets bad press, the publisher gets bad press, and in a few years we could see the studio that created some of the best role-playing games in the history of videogames, like Baldur’s Gate or Mass Effect, has to close because of issues that may not even be directly under their control.

Trine 4 is coming this fall

It’s official, the fourth installment of the Trine franchise has been announced. Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo switch this fall. We will meet once again the three courageous protagonists of the previous entries in the series, Zoya the Thief, Pontius the Knight, and Amadeus the Wizard. The Astral Academy has called for our heroes to assist them and put an end to a huge threat. The dreadful nightmares of Prince Selius are becoming real for some obscure reason, and our heroes will have to stop them before chaos spreads through the world.

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince is a 2.5D platform game full of amazing puzzles that our heroes will have to solve making use of physics, their wits, and their skills, to advance through the different levels and beat a variety of enemies. If you played any of the previous Trine games, you would notice that this one is played in a very similar way, but there will be surprises and novelties, of course. First one is that the developers have ditched the 3D visuals used for Trine 3 in favor of something closer to the original Trine, and that’s definitely big news because the majority of the players weren’t too happy with the change. But Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince will also feature the awesome-looking graphics that you can see in the trailer, as well as epic fights against bosses, skill trees with lots of abilities for your heroes to unlock, and a completely revamped combat system. If that’s not enough for you and you want to add a new layer of complexity and fun to the game, you will also be able to play cooperatively with up to four players in local or online multiplayer.

Zoya and Amadeus working together

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince doesn´t have a release date yet, but it will launch this fall, and you will be able to purchase it both as a standalone title or as part of a collection that will include all the games in the series.

Resident Evil Games too expensive in Switch

Too much is too much.

Capcom may have overdone it with their pricing for the Resident Evil franchise this time. Every Resident Evil fan was hyped upon hearing the that the triple pack (Resident Evil HD, Resident Evil 0, and Resident Evil 4) was coming to Nintendo Switch; however, that excitement died down pretty much as soon as the prices for each was revealed.

All three of the Resident Evil games are set to launch this May 21st and each game costs £29.99 on Nintendo Switch. It’s a huge difference and one great jump compared to how much they cost in PS4 or Xbox One.

Resident Evil 0 on Nintendo Switch Shop

Resident Evil on Nintendo Switch Shop

Resident Evil 4 is only £15.99 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, almost half the price when compared to the £29.99 on Nintendo Switch. Resident Evil HD and Resident Evil 0 cost £23 on PS4 as bundle. This has caused a lot of negative reactions from players and fans alike, and many of them have started pointing fingers and talking about the “Nintendo Switch tax”. This is a term coined by the great minds in the gaming community, and it´s related to how Switch games come on cartridges instead of discs. The production of those is more expensive than the latter, hence the increase in retail price. But still, gamers reason out that this is not a valid excuse as to why Resident Evil titles are outrageously expensive on Switch, most especially when they will not even be released in cartridges in the UK, since Resident Evil HD and Resident Evil 4 will only be available digitally, there will be no physical releases.

Capcom is yet to comment or publish an official statement over the matter.

Pokemon Shield and Pokémon Sword: Who’s that Pokémon?

Along with The Pokémon Company and Game Freak, Nintendo has officially unveiled the first looks of the 8th generation of Pokémon. A video revealed three starters of Sword, Shield, and the thirteen Pokémons that fans will be seeing in the new region of Galar.

From what we already know, both Pokémon Shield and Pokémon Sword will have better graphics and animations. Players will see sharper characters with more expressive faces and an even clearer environment. With Pokemon Let’s Go being the first and only Pokémon game coming to Nintendo Switch so far, it is almost certain that the ability to trade and battle with Pokemon Let’s Go is included. You can probably bring your eighth generation Pokémon to the Let’s Go region as well.

Pokémon Shield, Pokémon Sword: What’s the difference?

The Pokémon Company has been tight-lipped about the differences between the two; however, if we go back to the previous games released, we could say that there must be unique Pokémons and legendaries exclusive to each version. Releasing two versions of Pokémon is seemingly consistent as this has been their trend for a while, with Red and Blue, Ruby and Sapphire, and Diamond and Pearl.

Get to know the complete list of all the Pokémons for Pokémon Shield and Pokémon Sword that have been revealed so far:

Pikachu (Generation 1, Electric Type)

Minccino(Generation 5, Chinchilla Pokemon)

Wishiwashi (Generation 7, Water-type Pokemon)

Grubbin(Generation 7, Bug-type)

Hoothoot(Generation 2, owl-like Pokemon Normal/Flying-type)

Zweilous(Generation 5, Dark/Dragon-type)

Flygon(Generation 3, Ground/Dragon-type)

Braviary(Generation 5, Normal/Flying-type)

Lucario(Generation 4, Fighting/Steel-type)

Tyranitar(Generation 2, Rock/Dark-type)

Munchax(Generation 4, Normal type)

Scorbunny(Generation 8, Fire-type)

Sobble(Generation 8, Water-type)

Grookey(Generation 8, Grass-type)

Until now, there’s still no exact date for the release of Pokémon Shield and Pokémon Sword. The only thing we know about their launch is that it will happen “late on 2019”, but if you want to know more, subscribe to our blog to get daily news of your favorite games.

Samurai Shodown will arrive next summer

One of the most famous fighting games from SNK will be back this summer. Samurai Shodown was a big hit when it first appeared for the Neo Geo console, and it was followed by a long list of titles played on several platforms over the years. The news of its comeback has managed to get all the old fans of the game quite excited. SNK has confirmed that the game will be released this summer but they have not announced a date for it. We know that it will most probably launch before August 2, because it will be part of the EVO Championship Series 2019, the biggest annual esports event dedicated to fighting games exclusively.

Just yesterday SNK published a new video showing some gameplay footage where you can see some of the fan-favorite fighters in the franchise while they fight. You can see Haohmaru wielding his katana, Nakoruru aided by her eagle pet, and Jubei with his distinctive eyepatch. It´s true that some of the Samurai Shodown fighters have appeared included in the roster of the games from The King of Fighters series, but it feels really good to see them as part of their own game again.

In the video, you can see that the visuals are on a totally different style than other fighting titles that we will appear this year, like Mortal Kombat 11 or Dead or Alive 6, but the game maintains the flavor of the franchise.

Samurai Spirits/Samurai Shodown will launch on PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. We will probably see more news about the launch soon since the game will be shown at PAX East at the end of March.

Total War: Three Kingdoms, strategy in the China of legends

Creative Assembly had us accustomed to a very credible approach to history on the strategy games of the Total War series. A solid historical background has been the base of all of the elements that have given form to their games over the years. From the units in the armies to many of the combat mechanics and the detailed scenarios, one could get immersed in perfect recreations of massive historical battles and truly feel like general commanding troops on the battlefield. There were some doubts about the direction that the franchise was taking when Total War: Warhammer came out first. Those came mainly from the fact that nobody could guess if the change to a fantasy setting would affect the franchise, but time has proven that the adaptation of Games Workshop’s tabletop game was a very good idea given the success of the game.

Total War: Three Kingdoms is the next step for Creative Assembly, and once more it´s headed in a different and quite interesting direction. This new installment of the Total War series will take us to ancient China during the Thre Kingdoms period. It’s the year 190 AD, and the fall of the once glorious Han dynasty is followed by uncertainty and turmoil, with several factions trying to rise to power in a conflict that will decide the future of China. Each of those factions is led by a warlord that will be the center of the most character-driven Total War title up to date.

Battle in Total War: Three Kingdoms

The game offers a new type of blend between historical accuracy and a fantasy setting based on the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and it does it with two different game modes that will allow players to experience the best of both worlds.

Romance mode puts a heavy emphasis on individual heroes. In fact, you won´t choose a starting faction but a hero instead. You will then use him to recruit more generals, and each of those will have their own troops. The composition of your army will depend exclusively on what heroes you bring into battle. You can even command your hero separately, putting his extraordinaire abilities to the best use. This fact only gives more relevance than ever to the individuals and the dynamics between heroes, as they will not only affect your battles but also the kind of actions you can perform on the campaign map and the bonuses you get. Being aware of the heroes’ abilities and traits will be more decisive than ever before if you want to pave your way to victory and be the next one to unify and rule China.

On Records mode, based on the historical text Records of the Three Kingdoms, the quasi-divine powers of the mighty heroes are removed, and they can no longer be commanded as individual units. This alone allows the player to experience the game in a new, different way, one that feels more similar to the classic Total War games.

In the end, Total War: Three Kingdoms manages to deliver a great turn-based strategy experience, full of epic battles with legendary heroes, that can be played however you choose. Whether you are into historical battles in …

DOA 6′ Kasumi, New Costumes

What is Dead or Alive 6?

Dead or Alive 6 is a fighting game developed and produced by Koei Tecmo Games that features awesome graphics and multi-tiered stages. It is set to release on March 1, 2019, across all platforms – PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The DOA series started as an arcade game in 1996 and I clearly recall my younger self in my school uniform almost destroying the arcade machines in our local mall. Those were the days!

In its 6th installment, DOA is more visually enticing and exciting, the combat system is updated, and it promises a new level of fighting entertainment to players. The story will pick up where the DOA 5 left off. This time, it focuses on two separate narratives; the battle between ‘Nina and DOATEC’ vs M.I.S.T lead by Donovan, and the events in the 6th Dead or Alive Tournament.

If you are getting hyped just hearing about it, check the PC requirements below first and see if you’d need to free up some space.
