Gears 5 receives new characters in a DLC

Gears 5 is including more characters for the players to choose from with the release of its first DLC character drop, which includes both heroes and villains. Developer The coalition already has stated its intention of adding more characters to the game in the following months and this is the first batch. You will be able to choose Gear and DeeBee for the COG, as well as Warden and General Raam for the Swarm.

The characters are playable in Arcade multiplayer and PvE modes, and they have new abilities that will offer you more strategic choices during your games.

The best thing is that even though you can unlock these new characters buying them for 500 iron each in the game, you can also do it just by playing through a new totem system that is being added to Gears 5 too.

To unlock a character you first have to spend 100 scrap to craft a totem that you will need to equip as you complete different objectives. since only one of those totems can be active at a time you will need to repeat this process for every character that you want to unlock. With your totem equipped, you will need to complete four objectives that are the same for all the characters and a fifth one that is specific for each of them.

Shared objectives:

  • Earn 60,000 XP in Versus, Horde or Escape
  • Complete 40 rounds of Versus
  • Survive 50 waves of Horde in any difficulty (doesn’t need to be in a single match)
  • Survive 18 acts of Escape in any difficulty

Specific objectives:

  • Gear: Get 200 assists as a COG team character in Versus, Horde or Escape
  • DeeBee: Get 100 reject kills in Horde or Escape
  • Warden: Eliminate 10 wardens in Horde or Escape
  • General RAAM: Execute 30 COG characters as a Swarm character

According to The Coalition, the time needed to unlock each character by playing Gears 5 is about 10 hours per each of them, although it may vary depending on your skills.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will be late

It’s quite sad that after all the expectations generated by the reveal of the different clans and factions that will be present in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 we get to know that the game won’t be released in the first quarter of 2020. Maybe it could be deemed as expected since no release date for the game was confirmed so far but it’s still a letdown for all the fans that are eagerly waiting to immerse themselves into the darkest night of Seattle with Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2.

Even like that, it’s quite easy to understand and agree with the reasons exposed by Andy Kipling and Brian Mitsoda from Handy Labs. The developers come up with several reasons in a blog post, and among those, the most important one is one that the people that played the previous game in the series will understand very well: they don’t want to have the same mistakes and release the game before it’s ready. That’s something that anyone who played Bloodlines 1 would tell you. It’s a great game but it could have been much better with enough time.

On the flip side, there’s the responsibility to avoid some of the issues that plagued the first game, which was famously launched too early. Over the last few months, it became clear that to stick to our original date would risk repeating that mistake. We won’t do that. In the end, everyone working on this game wants to offer you the best Bloodlines 2 we can.

Whatever internal development reasons have led to this scenario don’t really matter because, at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is that players get the Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 that best represents the World of Darkness universe. If we have to wait for a bit longer for that to happen, I would say that it’s really worth it, but they better make sure that the final product can cope with the huge expectation that a game like this generates among the huge fan base of Vampire: The Masquerade.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is still coming to PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2020, but later than expected. No official release date has been confirmed yet.

The Division 2: Episode 2 and Free Weekend Approach

Released last March, The Division 2 continues to offer more content to players. Indeed, Ubisoft announced during the E3 its roadmap for year 1.

After Invasion: The Battle for DC, which introduced the 8-player raid Operation Dark Hours, and Episode 1: Washington Outskirts, which made us discover the expeditions, Episode 2 has finally arrived. Called Pentagon – The Last Castle, it is already available for the holders of the Year 1 Pass, which in addition to proposing confidential assignments, unlocks the specializations of year 1 and various bonuses, and also gives access to all the episodes of the year 1 seven days earlier. Episode 2 Pentagon – The Last Castle, having been released yesterday for the lucky owners of the Pass, it will thus be available free for all the players from October 22nd.

It contains two new missions, “The Pentagon” and “DARPA Research Laboratory”, two confidential assignments (only for players who bought the Year 1 Pass), and the new Technician specialization, that players do not have the famous Pass will have to unlock. The Technician is an electronics specialist and has a formidable weapon, the multi-missile launcher, which allows you to fire homing missiles on multiple targets at once. It also has a secondary weapon, the Maxim 9, and an Artificer variant for the Hive skill.

In parallel, if you do not have The Division 2, you will have the opportunity to play it for free on PC throughout the weekend. The free trial will run from October 17th at 10 am CEST until October 21st at the same time. To participate, all you need is a Uplay account and going to the game page. Preloading is already available on the Ubisoft platform.

Finally, a new update is coming to make a number of changes to loot and crafting in the game but also including a rebalance of PvE and PvP weapons and talents and a reworking of the standardization system in the United States Dark Zones and Conflicts. You can read the release notes and all the changes made to The Division 2 on the Ubisoft official website.

Moons of Madness launches next week

Funcom has a lot of experience with mystery games. After all, they are the creators of The Secret World, an MMORPG that is set in a world shaped by intrigue, conspiracy, and mystery. It’s the perfect setting for horror adventures and knowing that, Funcom and Rock Pocket Games are bringing us Moons of Madness, a game that will take us to the red planet to explore its dark side.

In Moons of Madness, you are Shane Newehart, an engineer from Orochi that is stationed in a secret base that the corporation has established on Mars. The Trailblazer Alpha outpost was built as a result of the reception of a mysterious signal coming from Mars, but your security clearance isn’t high enough, and you are completely oblivious about all this. One day, while you are performing technical duties you notice that the number of strange failures seems to be unusually high, and things get really awkward when the rest of your team has not returned from their EVA mission and the greenhouse starts filling with a green mist.

Finding yourself alone in Mars under strange circunstances wouldn’t be that bad if it wasn’t because your only way of escaping this situation is waiting until the transport ship Cyrano arrives bringing with it a new team to take over your duties. But loneliness makes a dent in the most hardened personalities, and in Moons of Madness you will be put in a situation where you will be doubting if what you see is true or just hallucinations. Facing isolation while you explore the darker side of the red planet while you are assaulted by terrifying visions and monstrous apparitions is bad enough, but the uncertainty about the existence of a cosmic horror that threatens reality itself behind all this could really drive you insane.

Moons of Madness

The release of Moons of Madness is scheduled for October 22nd on PC and January 2020 on PS4 and Xbox One, and you can check the best prices to buy it on our comparator anytime.

Riot announces a multitude of games

League of Legends is one of the most popular competitive MOBA and a reference in the world of eSports. Being one of the precursors in the genre has also made developer Riot Games one of the most successful studios in the video games scene and it seems that they are planning to expand their field of influence. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of League of Legends, Riot has announced that it’s working on a few titles that cover a variety of genres that includes fighting, first-person shooting or even card games.

Legends of Runeterra is Riot’s attempt to create a League of Legends digital card game to compete in a genre that is already packed with games like The Elder Scrolls Legends, Hearthstone, Magic The Gathering Arena or GWENT which are some of the most popular right now. Considering what happened with Valve’s Artifact not too long ago it could be a risky move because it’s rather difficult to innovate in this genre, but taking advantage of the huge popularity of League of Legends might produce a good start for the new game. No release date has been revealed so far, but it should come at some point next year.

Even though it doesn’t even have an official name yet, the game known as Project L is going to be Riot’s take on fighting games. It’s supposed to be a game that will let you use your favorite League of Legends champions to fight against each other. The very brief footage revealed during yesterday’s League of Legends 10th anniversary livestream showed Ahri and Darius in combat, but that’s all we know about the game so far.

Project L

In the same way, Project A is going to be Riot’s future first-person character-based tactical shooter. It will not be based on the League of Legends universe and very little information about it has been revealed other than it will be focused on competitive multiplayer modes. It could be similar to Overwatch but until we know a little more about its mechanics we are not sure of what to expect.

Project A

Other than that, yesterday’s livestream also served to announce the upcoming release of fifty new units for Teamfight Tactics with set 2 and also the launch of League of Legends for mobile devices and consoles very soon.

Gears 5: The Coalition Will Punish Ragequit

In Gears 5, bad losers are going to have a bad time. Released a little over a month ago, Gears 5 has made a pitching launch, best of all for a game Xbox Games Studios on this generation of consoles, but gathering so many players can sometimes have some disadvantages.

While players may have focused on the single-player campaign at first, Gears 5 also offers several multiplayer modes. And as in any multiplayer game, it is not uncommon to suffer some inconveniences caused by other players. And it is the rage that The Coalition has decided to tackle. Indeed, who has never found himself in a tricky situation, or has lost a game because of a bad teammate giving up on the way? It seems that these behaviors will no longer be allowed in Gears 5. The Coalition has revealed in a tweet that heavy penalties will be applied to those who abuse the ragequit

Recidivist players are offered a second chance, but if it’s your case, you should keep your rage in check. This decision may seem firm, and it’s reflected in the case of a player who was banned for 640 days for leaving parties many times. The penalty is indeed very heavy, but the player in question seems to be a pretty extreme case in terms of ragequitting.

Of course, this is not to everyone’s taste, and many players are complaining about the severity with which The Coalition Studio deals with the situation, including the fact of being deprived of a game that one has bought. Since w do not really know what’s the limit that one shouldn’t break before getting that kind of punishment. We imagine that there has to be a certain level of abuse to get such a severe penalty. In any case, it is better to try and get it under control.

If you do not have Gears 5, do not hesitate to take a look at our comparator to get it at the best price.

Postal 4 hits Early Access

The announcement of video game releases doesn’t always follow an established pattern and sometimes they are made public when they are at advanced stages in development without any previous notice. Fortnite Chapter 2 is up already

The black hole incident has come to an end, and a brand new world is available for the players to enjoy in Fortnite Chapter 2. Downloading the latest update files won’t take you much since it’s only 16GB on PC, and after that, you should be able to log into the game and start discovering the multitude of new things that this patch is adding. You can learn about many of the new features in the launch trailer, but there is even more information that has been revealed.

Although there have been a lot of speculation and leaks during the last few days, everything is coming into place now. It seems that the black hole has acted as a way of traveling to a new world, and you will be able to explore a new map with thirteen different locations that have a lot of surprises. The names of those locations were leaked earlier, after being obtained through data mining.

In the world of Fortnite Chapter 2, you will be able to perform other activities like fishing, swimming, or even driving motorboats in a variety of masses of water that are spread through the map. A new weapon arsenal is available too, and you will be able to upgrade your weapon of choice using different parts at a workbench. Among other new features, you can now pick up downed teammates and carry them to safety, and even heal them using the bandage bazooka. Cooperative gameplay is at a new level in Fortnite Chapter 2.

This patch also introduces a new experience system that allows you to unlock Battle Pass rewards by completing achievements and earning medals from different activities that include searching chests, eliminating opponents, completing challenges, and more. As usual, the start of a new season comes accompanied by the release of a new Fortnite Battle Pass that is full of rewards of all kinds for you to unlock.

You can also expect to find plenty of new cosmetic options and emotes to customize your characters in Fortnite Chapter 2, and it’s quite sure that Epic Games has a lot of novelties and events in store which will be revealed as the season progresses.

Football Manager 2020 gets a release date

It’s official; Football Manager 2020 will launch next month, on November 19th, more exactly. The latest installment of the Football Manager series will be available very soon, and even though this year’s football season has already started, there are a lot of players waiting for the release of the popular management title. The release date has been announced with a video on the official Twitter account of the game.

Sports Interactive has developed Football Manager 2020 so it is even more focused on the long term management of a team. On one side, we will be getting the graphical enhancements that usually come with every new version. On the other, we will see a better replication of the world of football with the addition of new information channels that will allow you to do your work better. You will receive extra support and information from your staff, and even though you are the one that holds power to decide, in this game you will have better access to a variety of data that will allow you to make better decisions in a variety of fields that range from the transfers to the gameplay style of your team.

Football Manager 2020 puts more emphasis on allowing the players to create their own team at all levels, and it perfectly reflects that it’s something that takes time. For example, you will be able to request a loan for more funds to develop your project and build your dream team, but you will have to gauge the economic impact that it will have in your future unless you want to end with financial problems. Overall, Football Manager 2020 delivers the most accurate and real representation of the management aspect in a football team, while offering quite a decent gameplay during the matches.

Fortnite, inaccessible for more than 20h

Brilliant idea or shot in the foot? The future will tell us without a doubt, but for the moment Fortnite is raiding the most lively questions among the players.

It’s unlikely you missed out on what’s happening with Fortnite right now. Since last night at 20h, all servers are inaccessible. Millions of players were able to attend the end of season 10 last night. Epic Games had not teased the event “The End” that took place last night, and for good reason. Players were able to witness the appearance of an immense meteorite and the take-off of the Visitor rocket, which seems to have exploded in flight, creating multiple temporal space rifts. There following huge explosion has created a black hole, sucking the entire map.

Since then, the image of the black hole has turned into a loop, and it is impossible to access the game. Twitch and Twitter accounts of the game have broadcasted live this image since last night, and the Twitter account was also emptied of all tweets.

After the initial surprise, it is now stupor that has invaded the players. Some even thought at first that it was simply the end of Fortnite. But it is unlikely that Epic is also abruptly abandoning its most popular license. It remains to be seen what Fortnite has to offer. Epic announced recently, the arrival of bots in the next season. The name of the season alone is also debated. The logical sequence would be a season 11; the Italian App Store had accidentally put online an image referring to Chapter 2 on which we could also see a new map. Even though this is only a rumor for the moment, the coincidence with what is happening now makes it very likely that we will see the introduction of a new map.

The players have also started looking for clues. It’s possible to see appear figures on the live broadcast at regular intervals, which would correspond to the following message:

I was not alone. Others are outside the loop, this has not been calculated. Zero point is inevitable.

Others have noticed the presence of a Konami code on the interface of the game, showing a kind of Space Invaders. Some also mentioned the Fortnite site in China, which states that Chapter 2 will start on October 15, and that, considering the time difference, it may be that we have only a few hours to wait until something happens.

All this is, in any case, very mysterious, and the best we can do for the moment is to wait. Epic Games has managed to gather the attention of the mass media worldwide and may have attracted even more players to Fortnite. We hope that whatever happens will live up to this expectation.
