How To Change Your Appearance In Animal Crossing New Horizons

After you make your character in Animal Crossing New Horizons, you can then change your appearance later in the game. Check out this guide to find how to change your appearance in Animal Crossing New Horizons. This way you can change to your new hairstyles quickly and easily.

How To Change Your Appearance In Animal Crossing New Horizons

In order to change your appearance in Animal Crossing New Horizons, you must first get yourself a mirror. You can get a mirror from your DIY recipes as you hand over items to Tom Nook early in the game. I think it is three or four bugs/fish for him to give you more recipes. From there, you can craft the mirrors and place it in your house. You will need some Iron to craft it, we have a guide on getting Iron here. When the mirror is down, go up to it and press A to change your appearance. You can change your gender, hair, eyes, mouth and other things like this.

If you are looking for new hairstyles, head over to the Nook Terminal and you can buy more with your Nook Miles. These are delivered immediately and you can use them as soon as you get back to your mirror. It doesn’t have to be a mirror you craft either. I found a Gothic Mirror and placed it down in my house and it worked as well. Don’t fret too much over your appearance, it can be changed at anytime and for free as long as you have a mirror.

How To Get Better Tools In Animal Crossing New Horizon
Want advanced tools like Iron? This guide on How To Get Better Tools In Animal Crossing New Horizon will tell you how to step up from the basic stone tools so your equipment and tools lasts much longer before it’s destroyed and needs replacing.

It doesn’t take long in Animal Crossing New Horizons before you gain access to basic stone tools like an axe or a shovel. However, these are quite basic and over time they do break. It’s quite common for the flimsy tools to break, often leaving you without tools or forcing you to spend more time gathering the materials to replace them. There is an answer, the Pretty Good Tools Recipe has the answer.

How To Get Better Tools In Animal Crossing New Horizon

With the advanced tools recipe you can make an Axe and Shovel out of iron but also more advanced fishing rod and net – allowing every gathering activity in the game to support more robust tools that don’t break. There is however a bit of a grind first. You need to first pay off the 5000 Nook Miles to Tom Nook. Once you have paid the full 5000 a terminal inside Tom’s tent becomes available. You can use this terminal to spend your Nook Miles unlocking tons of different things.

What Are The Shiny Spots On The Floor In Animal Crossing New Horizons

What Are The Shiny Spots On The Floor In Animal Crossing New Horizons
Seen the sparkling yellow shiny spots on the floor? This guide on What Are The Shiny Spots On The Floor In Animal Crossing New Horizons explains what these special gathering points are for, how you can gather the items from them, and what items you can receive.

The shiny spots you see sparkling on the ground are very much like the water spouts on the beach, they represent a special, limited gathering location that disappears after you successfully gather a single item from that location. Much like the water spouts, you will need a very specific tool to harvest from these locations.

What Are The Shiny Spots On The Floor In Animal Crossing New Horizons

Follow the steps of the main story until you have unlocked a shovel. If you’re struggling, check out our guide on how to unlock a shovel. Once you have the shovel, you simply equip it and then dig at the sparkling spots on the ground. They are quite rare, and only a limited number appear to spawn on the island at any one time so if you can’t find any, you may need to cross the river and explore further.

Digging at these locations has so far provided us with Bells, the currency of New Horizons. If we find any other items at these shiny spot locations, we’ll be sure to let you know.

How To Get Balloon Presents In Animal Crossing New Horizons

How To Get Balloon Presents In Animal Crossing New Horizons
Seen the floating balloons in the sky, wandering if you can shoot them down? This guide on How To Get Balloon Presents In Animal Crossing New Horizons tells you everything you need to know to shoot down the floating present boxes and burst those balloons.

When you are exploring your island you will sometimes see balloons floating in the sky above and attached, a wonderful present box. These boxes do not land, and will continue to float across the landscape until they go out of view. If you leave the game, enter a building, or otherwise travel to another location, they will vanish and not be there when you return. As such, you will need the appropriate tools with you at all times if you hope to pop the balloons and get the present.

How To Get Balloon Presents In Animal Crossing New Horizons
It’s a good idea to have already unlocked the Vaulting Pole, this let’s you get across rivers and streams. However, it is not a requirement, just something you may need if the present manages to float across the river.

The item you must have is called the Slingshot. You can buy either the Slingshot itself or a DIY Recipe from the shop in the Residents area – the area with the large tent and huge campfire. The Slingshot doesn’t require any ammo to use, it’s simply another tool you can equip and use at will.

When the Slingshot is equipped and you attempt to use it, it will aim directly above you. As such, you must position yourself underneath the balloon directly. Then, take your shot. If you are accurate the balloon will pop and the present will drop to the ground.

How To Cross The River In Animal Crossing New Horizons

How To Cross The River In Animal Crossing New Horizons
Want to cross the water and explore more of your island? This guide explains How To Cross The River In Animal Crossing New Horizons as regardless of what starting island you chose, sooner or later you will be faced with a stream of water that you cannot pass.

Your island is full of rare and interesting resources, bugs, fish, and other creatures. At the beginning of your adventure much of your island is inaccessible. This is due to rivers and streams that are blocking your path. There’s plenty of trees, rocks, water, and other valuable resource nodes in the initial part of your island but if you want to expand and explore further out into the wilderness, you will need to cross the river.

How To Cross The River In Animal Crossing New Horizons

In order to cross the river you will need 5x Soft Wood (use an axe to get wood) and the recipe for the Vaulting Pole. The Vaulting Pole is a special tool that you can craft and then equip. When used on the bank of a river, your character will use the vaulting pole by placing it into the river and then vaulting across to the other side. It only works on thin rivers and streams, the distance is limited, and cannot be used to traverse long distances.

The Vaulting Pole recipe is locked behind story progress. You must work with Tom Nook on discovering a combination of 5 insects and/or fish. Once you have delivered those to him, his museum friend will arrive on the island within 24 hours of real time. Once Blathers arrives, speak with him at his museum and he will teach you a couple of things. Firstly he will tell you how to make a shovel and then he will tell you the recipe for the Vaulting Pole so you can cross rivers.

Doom Eternal Review

The legendary badass returns once again as Bethesda and id Software look to build on the success of the 2016 release of Doom with Doom Eternal, Doom Guy’s latest foray into the depths of hell. Promising the insanely over-the-top and exciting combat of its predecessor, rewarding secrets, and challenging new platforming elements, Doom Eternal is poised to be bigger and badder in every way.

Doom Eternal Review

The original Doom games are iconic classics, defining what it meant to be a first-person shooter game all those years ago. However, by modern standards, they can be considered basic and bare-bones. Bethesda and id Software did the impossible: they brought Doom into the modern age in spectacular fashion. Every aspect of the game has been modernized, all while maintaining its over-the-top, tongue-in-cheek approach to slaying demons in an effort to save mankind. Arguably one of the best first-person shooters of the current generation, the 2016 release of Doom raised the bar; and sometimes, Doom Eternal just about struggles to reach it.

Doom Eternal Review

In my review of Doom 2016, I criticized the game for its lack of narrative. Doom’s fast-paced gameplay and combat design often tend to lean more towards chaos and carnage than an understandable and easy-to-follow story direction.

Thankfully, the developers combined both with Doom Eternal. Offering deeper insight into Doom Guy’s origins, the nature of the demonic invasion of Earth, and the bigger powers at play, Doom Eternal dives further and deeper into the lore and narrative than ever before – all without ever distracting from its true strengths. Cutscenes, flashbacks, hidden lore in collectibles – there’s a lot of story to sink your teeth into, and the game is a much better package because of it.

While immersing myself deeper into the lore of the Doom universe was a fun and rewarding adventure, let’s not pretend it was its primary focus. Let’s look at murdering an entire demonic invasion of Earth single-handedly. Doom Eternal’s combat in the first-person genre is the best the industry has to offer. It’s crisp, responsive, rewarding, chaotic, and incredibly fun from start to finish. It’s slightly more complex than its predecessor, and while this is somewhat limiting at first, the payoff is huge once you learn to micromanage the various mechanics of combat.

Doom Eternal Review

You can upgrade your suit. There are plenty of guns to unlock. Each gun can have a number of mods equipped and each mod can be upgraded. There’s several ability combinations you can acquire. It sounds like a simple premise, but it’s somewhat overwhelming at first. You build up an arsenal of over 10 weapons and abilities, most of which have multiple methods of fire, providing opportunities for perfect-execution of nearly any demon you encounter. Switching up between weapons, mods, and abilities three to four times in a ten second window to take out three special demon types is a fumbling process at first, but after a few levels, you feel unstoppable.

Doom Eternal Review

Each and every fight put me one step closer, one quick weapon switch away from executing the perfect combination of abilities to decimate my demonic enemies. The game drives you to improve and get better, and rewards you by making you feel like a complete badass every step of …
