Resident Evil 3 Hip Pouch Location Guide

One of the early challenges of Resident Evil 3, in the lack of inventory space. Check out this Resident Evil 3 hip pouch location guide to find them all and get more space. Missing one of these will hurt you bad in the long run.

Resident Evil 3 Hip Pouch Locations

Hip Pouch 1 Location
The first Hip Pouch is hard to miss. After you put out the flames in the alley, head into the repair shop and grab the bolt cutters. Cut the chain to the red door and follow the path to the Substation. When you get to the Save Room, check on top of the little ladder in the room for the Pouch.
Hip Pouch 2 Location
The second Hip Pouch can be found in the subway clock. You will need the lock pick to get it. When you have the lock pick, head back to the toy store and open it up. Inside you will find a fancy box you can pick up. Pick it up, examine it, and it will have a green gem inside. Bring that gem back to the clock in the subway, near the first item box, and put it inside the clock. This will reveal the Pouch for you.
Hip Pouch 3 Location
The third pack is found down in the sewers. After you get the first battery pack, run back towards the ladder in the sewer. Climb up and open the door up top with the battery pack. Now unlock the iron bar door on the other side. Grab the battery pack out of the door you opened, then open the other battery pack door in the room you just left. Inside you will find the Pouch on a desk.
Hip Pouch 4 Location
This one belongs to Carlos and is found in the Raccoon City Police Department (RPD) West Office in the safe. We have a safe guide here if you need help opening it.
Hip Pouch 5 Location
This one belongs to Carlos and is found in the hospital. You find this one right at the end of the Carlos segment as you defend Jill from the zombies. The lights go out and a door behind the desk bursts open. Inside that room are some grenades, ammo, and the Pouch.
Hip Pouch 6 Location
The last one for Jill is found in the Lab area, in the first safe room. After you take the lift up you will enter a safe room. The Pouch is on the desk inside.

Resident Evil 3 Remake Safe Combination Guide

Resident Evil 3 Remake Safe Combination Guide
Want to know the location and combination of each safe? This Resident Evil 3 Remake Safe Combination Guide does just that, with details on where you can find each safe scattered throughout Raccoon City and the puzzles associated with the combination for each safe.

Much like previous Resident Evil games, the Resident Evil 3 Remake features locked safe’s scattered throughout the game. There’s not very many, but each comes with some minor puzzle solving and often some worthwhile rewards – such as additional ammo or healing supplies. Both of which are rather tasty considering Nemesis is never too far away.

Important: When you are attempting to open a safe, you do not press on each combination. You don’t go left 9 and then press to open. You simply follow the pattern. Left 9, Right 1, Left 8, then press to open. Just as an example.

Found the Blue, Red, and Green Jewels? This guide on What To Do With Colored Gems In Resident Evil 3 Remake tells you where you need to take the three colored jewels in order to exchange them for some powerful items including an additional Hip Pouch and Shotgun upgrade.

If you’re an avid explorer, looking in every corner for items you can collect or interact with, you’ve likely already found the correct location to use the colored jewels. However, for those of us a little eager to outrun the latest zombie on our heels, it was an easy enough point to miss.

What To Do With Colored Gems In Resident Evil 3 Remake

What To Do With Colored Gems In Resident Evil 3
After the brief introduction to the story, just after you meet with Carlos and the other survivors on the train, you’re told to leave the Subway Station and head up topside, to the streets. On your way up there are some items and gear to get you well equipped for what lies ahead. In the Subway Station area, there is a large clock-like item against the wall. At the location where I am standing in the image above.

There are clearly three different slots. A blue slot, a red slot, and a green slot. These are the slots for the jewels you will discover when you are exploring Downtown. There are only three jewels to discover, and each of them are hard to miss. Once you have all of the jewels, return to the Subway Station and place them into the device.

  • Blue Jewel – Hand Grenade
  • Red Jewel – Tactical Stock (Shotgun Upgrade)
  • Green Jewel – Hip Pouch

Once you have used all of the jewels in the device, you will also unlock the Power Stones achievement.

Where To Find The Bolt Cutters In Resident Evil 3 Remake

Bolt Cutters open a lot of additional loot options. This guide on Where To Find The Bolt Cutters In Resident Evil 3 Remake will lead you directly to the Bolt Cutters so you can use them to begin cutting chains that block many different paths and special items.

You will encounter yellow locks and chains very early in the game but you cannot interact with them for a short while. The Bolt Cutters are specifically used to cut chains, such as the one blocking the shotgun, they are not used for locks. If you want to know how to open yellow locks, you need to find yourself a lockpick.

Where To Find The Bolt Cutters In Resident Evil 3 Remake

Where To Find The Bolt Cutters In Resident Evil 3 Remake
After you have been introduced to Carlos and you arrive at the Subway carts with all the survivors, you’re told to go topside to restore the power to the Subway lines. Once you reach the streets you are allowed to explore a large portion of Downtown. Much of it is immediately open but some of it is locked behind chains. Once you’ve got the Bolt Cutters, you can explore the locked areas and grab yourself some special loot, such as the shotgun.

Before you can reach the Bolt Cutters, you need to put out the fire in the alley. You need to find a fire hose near the Subway Control Room and then use it on the Fire Hydrant in the alley to clear the flames so Jill can continue. Directly after the fire is cleared from the alley you will reach a Repair Shop. As soon as you enter the Repair Shop you will see a pair of Bolt Cutters in front of you. Simply walk up to the locker, it’s not locked, and interact with the Bolt Cutters to pick them up and take them with you.

How To Cut Chains In Resident Evil 3

One of the early obstacles you will run into in Resident Evil 3 are the chained doors. Check out this guide to find out how to cut chains in Resident Evil 3. You need to cut through chains in order to get the shotgun, which you don’t want to miss.

How To Cut Chains In Resident Evil 3

In order to cut chains in Resident Evil 3, you will first have to get the Bolt Cutters. If you played Resident Evil 2 remake, you already know about them. You can find the Bolt Cutters in the repair shop in the city. You will first have to get the Fire Hose so you can clear out the alley of flames. When you clear the flames, the next room has the Bolt cutters inside. After you get them, I recommend going back through the part of city you came from and opening the doors for more loot. Make sure you go back to the rail station to get the Shotgun from the wall as well, you’ll need it. The other rooms have medical supplies, ammo, and some key items for extra loot like grenades and weapon mods.

If you didn’t kill all the zombies on the streets and in the buildings be wary, the fat dude in the safe building came to life and grabbed me. If you cut the chains in the repair room, the run back and hit the three chains in the first part of the city, you can get rid of the Bolt Cutters. So on top of getting more supplies, you will also be able to clear another space in your inventory by clearing all the chains. You’ll need that extra spot to carry shotgun shells anyways.

How To Open Yellow Locks In Resident Evil 3

Early on in your play through of Resident Evil 3, you will come across yellow locks that you can’t open. Check out this guide to find out how to open Yellow Locks in Resident Evil 3. You don’t want to miss all the extra ammo and healing items behind the locks.

How To Open Yellow Locks In Resident Evil 3

To get through the Yellow Locks in Resident Evil 3, you will have to first find a lock pick. Luckily for you, it cannot be missed. After you put out the flames in the alley, enter the repair shop and grab the bolt cutters. Use that to cut through the red door and work your way back outside. Follow the path until you enter the substation and clear out the enemies. When you enter the safe room, grab the hip pouch and then exit to the outside of the room. Take the stairs down and there will be a note on the floor. Read it and it will mention that the manager has a lock pick. The manager is just ahead of you dead on the floor.

Grab the box and examine it to get the lock pick. Now before you pick the lock to the sub station, I recommend running back to open up all the lockers and crates you’ve missed so far. There is also the Toy Store that is locked. You will get some extra ammo, healing items, and even another Hip Pouch for running back now. I did have one zombie bust out of a cop car on my way back, so watch yourself around the cars. Once you wrap that up, head back to the sub station and open up the lock for that door.

How To Recruit Special Units In Mount & Blade II Bannerlord

How To Recruit Special Units In Mount & Blade II Bannerlord
Special units can really help you recruit more troops. In this guide on How To Recruit Special Units In Mount & Blade II Bannerlord we explain a great but rarely used mechanic that lets you recruit more troops than just the towns and villages have to offer, including exclusive and special units.

Some of the units can only be recruited by these means. They won’t be found as captives after a fight, they won’t be found at villages or towns. However, this doesn’t always mean that the uni is strong. For example, you can find an Expert Thug that can level into a Master Thug, a rare class of soldier. The stats are really poor though, 20 across the board. Much weaker than average units. However, the additional units do make it easier to fill large armies (once you have a huge party size)

How To Recruit Special Units In Mount & Blade II Bannerlord

Recruiting these special units is actually really easy, although expensive. Make sure you’ve used our money making tips to get plenty of Denar. Head to any large town or city, those with a tavern. Although you can hire Companions here by seeing if there is one in the portrait bar at the top, this is where special units hide. They do not show in the portrait icon space.

You have to actually enter the tavern. You will usually find at least one Arms Dealer or special character that can be recruited. Simply walk around and get close enough to see the names. You should notice relatively quickly that they usually stand in similar spots and often seem different to the other people inside the tavern.
