It will progressively add more fighters to the game in the following months, starting with Rimururu, who arrives in August, followed by Basara, Kazuki Kazama, and then Wan-Fu.

Samurai Shodown characters

The mechanics of Samurai Shodown are pretty simple; you have three weapon slashes —light, medium, heavy—and a kick. You can block attacks or dodge them, which gives you a window for a counterattack. The attack combos are short, but their potency is usually devastating compared to other fighting games. Each character has a rage bar that will fill up as the match progresses and that once its full allows the player to unleash special techniques and powerful attacks. It’s quite easy to learn your ropes, but the combat in Samurai Shodown is hard to master. At the same time, it´s quite rewarding to see the amount of damage that you deliver when you time your attacks with precision and deliver a killing blow.

Those of you that are used to chain 100-hit combos while your enemy is mid-air may be up for a surprise when your health bar vanishes after receiving just a few hits, but once you get accustomed to the type of combat in Samurai Shodown, you will experience a different way of enjoying fighting games.
