After having postponed the Future of Gaming event indefinitely after it had been announced for June 4, Sony has an updated date set for the PlayStation 5 games showcase. The stream will be taking place at an updated date and time of June 11 at 1 PM PST and 9 PM BST. Sony previously decided to postpone the event due to the protests happening in the United States and around the world. Their official statement regarding the #BlackLivesMatter movement can be seen in the tweet below.

In terms of what Sony is going to show off at this hour-long stream, it may not be what some people are expecting. Based on the official post by Sony, it seems that this showcase will be focused on the games that will be available on PlayStation 5 this coming holiday season. There is no mention of a full console reveal, so it would be best to manage expectations until Sony decides to reveal the PS5 hardware at their own discretion.

In March of this year, Sony dropped a breakdown of the PlayStation 5 specs during the Road to PS5 showcase featuring Mark Cerny. They also previously released images of their new controller, the DualSense, back in April. The Future of Gaming PlayStation 5 event will be streamable at 1080p and 30 frames per second. It is a pre-taped program that is going to air on both Twitch and YouTube and will be longer than an hour and available for viewing after it streams on those platforms.
