Battlefield 5 moves to the Pacific in a new update

We knew it was coming but this change of scenario has been greatly anticipated. Battlefield 5 is finally putting its focus on a part of World War II that it’s been left aside in most of the shooters. Most of the games tend to focus on what happened in Europe but there are very few that try to represent what happened in the Pacific during the conflict. DICE has announced the launch of the War in the Pacific free update, that will pit the United States forces against the Japanese army.

War in the Pacific will allow you to take part in the Pacific invasion in a reimagination of classic battlefields like Iwo Jima or Wake Island. You can choose between two different factions to experience the conflict from both sides if you want to. You will have plenty of options to equip and customize your Company with iconic uniforms that resemble U.S. armed forces on one side and the Imperial Japanese Army on the other.

This new Battlefield 5 chapter comes full of new weapons for you to use, that range from katanas to all kinds of firearms. Each of the classes will have access to new weapons: Type 99 Arisaka rifle for the Recon class, Type 100 SMG for Medics or M1919A6 machine gun for the Support class are just some examples of what you will be able to use. But there is more than weapons in this update, and iconic vehicles like the Sherman M4 or the Japanese Zero Fighter will let you rule the battlefield both up in the sky and down on earth.

And DICE has not forgotten the elites. Jack Culver and Keisuke Nakamura will join the U.S. and the Japanese forces respectively, adding a bit of flavor to the gameplay with their unique background and stories.

Battlefield 5 – War in the Pacific

To complete the War in the Pacific experience, this update will also include plenty of chapter rewards that you will be able to unlock as you play and earn Chapter Ranks, as well as weekly challenges.

Update 5: War in the Pacific will be out on October 31st, and you will get it for free if you own Battlefield 5.

Accel Review

Aerodynamics meets arcade action with the release of Objectif 3D’s new title Accel. Featuring a number of tricky maneuvers, should players jump into the cockpit of this high-flying flyer?

Accel Review

To set the stage of Accel, a brief story has been thrown in before the title screen. Told via some generic flavor text, Accel tells of the “All-Out War,” a stalemate, and the cyber world of ACCEL. This text is gone as quickly as it appears, and the story is never revisited throughout the title, so it is an element that is simply there and nothing more.

Rather, the gameplay of Accel is the meat and potatoes of it all. Players take control of a large spacecraft, one that is always in perpetual motion. As players fly through the skies, they must hit a number of green collectibles that dot the landscape. Hit the collectibles, and the store increases – pretty straightforward arcade rules. To incentivize players, a multiplier that goes up to 10x has also been included – a nice touch.

However, these types of games live and die by their controls. Thankfully, the controls here work as they should. Players fly through the skies with a control scheme akin to Star Fox 64, but there’s a twist – players can change their orientation. With the press of one of the triggers, players can change the trajectory of their ship to a completely 360 view. This is an interesting element, as it is used to navigate tricky corridors and go through specific collectibles for additional points. There is no acceleration, braking, or firing mechanics, so making the most of this orientation can mean the difference between a high score and a low one.

Accel - Gamers Heroes

The three levels (and tutorial) stage manage to stand out quite a bit. Though the title is a short one (we were able to complete everything in around 20 minutes), the levels will take players through asteroid belts, neon-drenched cities, industrial tunnels, and other zones. Each stage lasts a matter of minutes, though each selection manages to make an impact throughout. Its solid synth beats also help bring this game to life.

Complete each level, and a tally of the player’s time, data collected, axe data collected, incomplete axe data collected, and collisions will be displayed. A letter grade is also included, which is factored into both its leaderboards and unlocking additional levels. It’s nothing revolutionary, but it is still welcome nonetheless.

Unfortunately, Accel does not feature much replayability. Players can utilize alternate ships that differ cosmetically and put their scores on an offline leaderboard, but there is little else to keep people coming back in the long term.

Accel’s flight mechanics hit all the right notes for an arcade title, but it proves to be far too short for the long term. Those looking for a brief respite between longer titles can have fun here, but don’t be surprised if you’re done sooner rather than later.

This review of Accel was done on the PC. The game was freely downloaded.

Outer Worlds - The Frightened Engineer Guide
Thomas asks you to find three Guide To Mechanical Engineering books in this side quest. This Outer Worlds – The Frightened Engineer Guide will tell you where to find each of the books, and how you can discover the clues to the whereabouts of each of the books locations.

This quest is from Thomas, who is at the Botanical Gardens next to the vending machine. Depending on your other actions so far, when you first obtain the quest, you may have 1 or 2 objective markers on the map, but there’s three books.

Guide To Mechanical Engineering Location #1

The first book can be found in the Emerald Vale Community Center. It’s the one already marked on your map so head over there, follow the objective marker, and grab the book.

Guide To Mechanical Engineering Location #2

Where To Find The Third Book
For the second book, head into Edgewater. You want to visit Parvati’s house at this location. Go upstairs, into her old fathers room. Check the computer terminal inside. It tells you that the second book is sitting inside the Cannery in an unused office. It’s upstairs in the Cannery, near the foreman. You can also get this clue by speaking with Parvati.

Guide To Mechanical Engineering Location #3

Frightened Engineer
You will find the final book inside the Geothermal Plant. Follow the path through the plant until you hear Higgins screaming in the silo section. Drop to the lowest level, you’ll find the book resting against a nearby wall.

Redirect Power To Edgewater Or Botanical In The Outer Worlds

Redirect Power To Edgewater Or Botanical In The Outer Worlds
A huge choice, do you redirect power to Edgewater or the Botanical Laboratory? This guide covers the choice of Redirect Power To Edgewater Or Botanical In The Outer Worlds, telling you the outcomes of each potential choice and the consequences of your actions.

Whether you choose Edgewater or the Botanical Laboratory, is ultimately down to you. There’s no right or wrong choice here. Be sure to check out our Outer Worlds choices and consequences guide for future choices throughout the game.

If You Choose Redirect Power To Edgewater

If you choose to redirect the power to Edgewater, you will obviously upset the Deserters. Once you have chosen, you will need to return Botanical Laboratory and speak with Adelaide. She tells you that unless you deal with Reed, she will not return to Edgewater. That’s a choice covered further into this article.

You must then convince the other members of her group to return. Speak with Thomas, tell him he can start a fresh as an engineer. It’s a good idea to tell him to wait before going to Edgewater, so you can deal with Reed first. Likewise with Grace. You can kill Adelaide here but there’s really not much reason to, you lose a lot of reputation with the Deserters if you do. If you bring all of the workers back to Edgewater, you get Spacer’s Choice reputation.

If You Choose Redirect Power Botanical Laboratory

Choosing the option to redirect power to the Botanical Lab results in a quick return to Reed. He will be angry at your decision. He threatens you and tells you to leave. With 30 Intimidation you can talk your way out of a fight. However, if you decide to fight you can kill Reed and get his Keycard which opens a room for some decent loot. Either option here loses Spacer’s Choice reputation, and killing him automatically fails all remaining quests in Edgewater.

Dealing With Reed

Convince Reed To Leave
Speak with Reed after directing power to Edgewater. Follow these choices to make him leave:

  • Tell him Adelaide won’t return while he is there
  • A change of Leadership
  • Adelaide’s people are not getting sick with the plague
  • Have you ever eaten a vegetable
  • You need Adelaides garden.
  • [Persuade 10] Adelaide’s found a way to grow food
  • She’s been using human corpses in her fertilizer
  • I’m not in the mood to argue

Kill Reed
If you decide to kill Reed, Parvati will leave unless you convince her to stay. You still get Reed’s Keycard and can access his room.

Hopefully that answers your question on whether to Redirect Power To Edgewater Or Botanical In The Outer Worlds.

Vicar Max – The Illustrated Manual (Edgewater)
You can find this quest in the church looking building in Edgewater. Talk to the man behind the table named Vicar and he will ask you to help him find a book. Make it your main quest and follow the marker. You will have to fight some Marauders in the area and then enter a building to find the item. Then it’s off to Scylla.

Help Max through the vision. It’s a good idea to save first as there are some choices. I chose to encourage the visions, not attack, Max seemed happy at the end.

Ellie – Worst Contact (Groundbreaker)

How To Get To Byzantium In The Outer Worlds
Struggling to find where Byzantium is? This guide will tell you How To Get To Byzantium In The Outer Worlds, an exciting area full of opportunity, with many side quests pointing solely at the heart of Byzantium, it’s an area you don’t want to miss.

There are multiple quests that request you visit Byzantium, but none of them give you directions on how exactly to get there. It’s pretty tucked away, locked behind some dialogue choices between certain characters aboard the Groundbreaker.

Just to be clear, you can get to Byzantium naturally in the story, but if you want to get there earlier, continue on.

How To Get To Byzantium In The Outer Worlds

Get To Byzantium
You must have progressed far enough into the story that you have completed most of Groundbreaker. Speak with Udom Bedford inside the Halcyon room aboard the Groundbreaker, it’s featured in the image above. When you get there, follow these dialogue choices:

  • I know where to find Phineas Wells
  • I saw Welles’ wanted poster, and I want to claim the bounty
  • What?
  • What kind of reasons?
  • Fine, you needed money, what’s next?

The rest of the decisions don’t matter so much. Keep speaking with him until you get the “Balance Due” main quest. From there, follow the objective markers to speak with Gladys. You pay 8,000 Bits for the Seal, return to Udom, and you get the Navkey for Byzantium.
