As we announced in previous news, many players were able to experience Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer battles during the last weekend. Plenty of players took part in the beta and now they have a better idea of what’s coming when the game releases October 25 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The event ran smoothly through the whole weekend and the participants have voiced their opinions about the gameplay. Even though most of the people were quite pleased with the experience, one thing, in particular, bothered the majority of the players to a point where Infinity Ward had to change it on the last day: the lack of mini-map.

It’s something very simple that has had a huge repercussion. In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta, players only had access to the minimap when using UAVs and Personal Radars. That’s very limited time because those depend on killstreaks. The controversy about this matter caused that the developer decided to activate it on the third day, but modifying it so it would only show enemies if you had a UAV or Personal Radar active.

Infinity Ward hasn’t announced is this change is going to be maintained for the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfar but we assume that due to the feedback received during the beta they may consider implementing it.

We will have a chance to see what they decide during the upcoming weekend when the second Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta is happening. As a reminder, everyone is allowed to participate in this beta that will run from September 21 to September 23. It doesn’t matter if you have not pre-ordered the game, all you have to do to participate is visit the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare dedicated website in the appropriate date and follow the instructions to play on whatever platform you choose: PC, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
