After a long wait and lots of speculation about what would be the following title to be released in the Call of Duty franchise, we got an official confirmation yesterday that it’s going to be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. It’s true that it was unofficially leaked last week, but nothing was known about the features of the new installment. Along with the announcement, the official reveal video was released.

According to Dave Stohl, co-studio head at Infinity Ward, in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare “Players will join a varied cast of international special forces and freedom fighters in gripping and heart-pounding missions through iconic European cities and volatile expanses of the Middle East.”

Infinity Ward’s creative director and co-studio head, Patrick Kelly revealed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is breaking with the way they have released the previous Call of Duty titles: not only there won´t be a Season Pass for the game, but players will be able to play the game together across PC and console through cross-play support.

It seems that they intend to expand the game experience of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare with the release of free maps and extra content after the launch of the game, but nothing has been revealed about those so far.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

The new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is not really a sequel of the previous installments, but more like a reboot of the series with a new story and familiar characters. It will feature a dual storyline where you will play as a special forces soldier and a rebel fighter in the Middle East. We can also expect multiplayer and cooperative gameplay, as well as photo-realistic visuals created with a new graphics engine.

The best thing of all this announcement is that we won´t have to wait too long to be able to know more and eventually play the game, because the launch schedule for Call of duty: Modern Warfare has also been revealed, and the new FPS from Infinity Ward will be available on October 25th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
