Special units can really help you recruit more troops. In this guide on How To Recruit Special Units In Mount & Blade II Bannerlord we explain a great but rarely used mechanic that lets you recruit more troops than just the towns and villages have to offer, including exclusive and special units.
Some of the units can only be recruited by these means. They won’t be found as captives after a fight, they won’t be found at villages or towns. However, this doesn’t always mean that the uni is strong. For example, you can find an Expert Thug that can level into a Master Thug, a rare class of soldier.
