We all know that adding a Battle Royale mode to your game has been a trend among developers for a while, but it’s still quite surprising to see that franchises that originally have absolutely nothing to do with that kind of gameplay also get Battle Royale matches as part of their features. While Forza Horizon 4 is not the first car-based Battle Royale, the original theme of the racing title has absolutely nothing to do with the new gameplay mode, but that doesn’t mean that it is not fun to play.
The Eliminator mode is a Battle Royale that pits up to 72 drivers against each other in a competition where they will have to challenge and eliminate opponents just by winning head to head races. All the players start with low-level cars but they will be able to improve their performance by earning upgrades as the match progresses and they get rid of opponents. Once you beat someone you can choose between picking up an upgrade for your car or taking your opponent’s vehicle as a prize. You can also find “rare cars” as you navigate the map so there is always a possibility of catching up with your opponents even if the others have cars faster than yours.
Forza Horizon 4 – The Eliminator
The Eliminator takes place in a huge map representing the open world of Britain in the game. There are no limits on the paths you can take and you are free to drive offroad if you think it’s going to be a faster route to win a race. As the match progresses the area where the competition takes place is progressively reduced forcing the remaining players to meet in a certain area for a free-for-all race that will determine the winner.
Let’s face it, Forza Horizon 4 will never be Fortnite or PUBG, but The Eliminator mode looks quite fun, and if you already have the game it will cost you nothing to give it a try. You will be able to put your driving skills to test for free in The Eliminator starting today.
