In the last few years, we have seen a lot of remastered versions of titles of the most popular video games franchises and the Final Fantasy franchise couldn’t be left out. There apparition new version of classic games is a trend that has also helped to fill a certain lack of games in new platforms like Nintendo Switch, but the real thing behind this resurgence of the classics is that there are many cases where the modern titles struggle to be at the same level as their predecessors. The majority of Final Fantasy fans consider Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII to be the best games in the series by far. That is the reason why the fans got very excited when Square Enix announced during E3 2019 that a remastered version of Final Fantasy VIII was coming. Now, we finally get to know when the new game will be released.

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is coming out on September 3 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The game will include overhauled graphics with higher-resolution character models and several gameplay enhancements including battle assist, 3x speed on cinematics or the possibility of turning off random encounters to experience the story without interruptions.

Final Fantasy VIII follows the story of Squall Leonhart and Rinoa Heartilly as they fight along with the members of SeeD and the resistance to put a stop to the plans of the evil sorceress Edea, who controls the powerful armies of Galbadia and whose intention is to conquer the world.
