River City Girls Review

The streets of River City rage once again with the release of WayForward and Arc System Works’ River City Girls. Featuring a new perspective for its time-tested tussles, should you help these ladies on their journey?

River City Girls Review

Things aren’t going so hot for Kyoko and Misako. Not only are they spending their time in detention, their boyfriends Riki and Kunio have been kidnapped. Not ones to take things lying down, these two hit the city in the search for answers, fighting anybody that stands in their way. Throughout the way, the story is told through creative manga panels and plenty of banter with both friends and foes – a nice touch.

These two girls certainly pack the skills necessary for the job. Right from the get-go, these two pack both a quick attack and a heavy attack that can be used to juggle cheerleaders, security guards, whip wielders, lucha libre wrestlers, Terminator dopplegangers, and other ne’er-do-wells. A grab can be used to fling foes, and a block and parry mechanic allows players to turn any defensive situation into an offensive one.

Through all of this, combat is polished throughout. Attacks carry weight, and players can earn EXP and level up as the game progresses. Levels aren’t just a higher number; new moves are regularly doled out that help to add variety. An in-game Dojo can also be visited to learn some new skills. By the time the title is over, players will be able to perform some stylish maneuvers that has these two rolling, suplexing, and more. Despite this repertoire, River City Girls never gets overly complex – it’s just as deep as you want it to be.

To aid them on their journey, a number of recruits can be, well, recruited. By showing mercy in select scenarios, these reformed baddies can be called in as an assist at the press of a button. Though there’s a fair amount of variety, the amount of cooldown time required between uses and the limited functionality make this mechanic feel more like a novelty than a necessity.

True to the River City franchise, River City Girls features a number of different areas that can be explored. Posh uptowns, rough downtowns, malls, schools, beaches, and other locales flesh out the six different zones people can venture to. It’s easy to figure out where to go next, with a system of areas that are connected to one another and an easily accessible map with quests guiding players along. Some areas slow things down with locked doors and mandatory fights, but traversal is a speedy affair. Players can also pick up the pace with a bus system that gradually unlocks as players experience more of the game.

Of course, as with life, money makes the world go round in River City Girls. Dropped by enemies, players can spend their dough on items, accessories, and the Dojo. Items are self explanatory, but accessories can be used to turn the tide in battle with different perks. Though only two can be equipped at any given time, it adds to its RPG-style vibe that makes sure playthroughs stay fresh.

Unfortunately, not everything is golden in this beat-em-up. Though battles are entertaining, they are also plentiful to …

Cyberpunk 2077 offers a deep look at its gameplay

It was announced that we would have a lot more information about Cyberpunk 2077 in the livestream that was scheduled for last Friday evening and CD Projekt RED shared a new video of fifteen minutes that summarizes all the gameplay that was shown during the event. The video shows for the first time a couple of the different character builds that you will be able to use in the game and a bit of the gameplay options that each of them will offer to the players. Whether you choose to create a Strong Solo character that focuses on inflicting heavy physical damage, or a Netrunner that uses hacking skills and stealth to get the job done, both types of characters have more than enough tools to progress through the story in Cyberpunk 2077. Be aware that the video contain a few minor visual spoilers about the story.

As you can see in the video, Cyberpunk 2077 offers a wide range of customization options to the players when it comes to the looks, the story and the skillset of V. That means that you will be able to create the type of character that you want and adapt its skills to whatever style of play you see fit. Each of those aspects has an influence on the game; your character background will open different dialogue options and brute force is no the only solution when it comes to finishing missions. Anyway, if you decide to go for the tough approach when it comes to missions you will be able to make use of plenty of different weapons to get rid of your enemies, from guns to melee weapons. Just remember that you are not the only one able to use cybernetic implants or you are in for a big surprise when you find someone faster than you.

Cyberpunk 2077 – Character Customization

Whatever you choose to be, you will work as a mercenary in Cyberpunk 2077. That means that you will have to deal with different gangs, organizations, and factions, like the Animals and the Voodoo Boys in the video, each of them with their own interests. Maintaining your reputation as a good merc and staying alive will be a priority, but you have to remember that at the end of the day you are an expendable asset, so you will need to be careful with who you trust and decide what’s best for your interests.

The more information is revealed about the game, the more excited we are about what we expect to be one of the best role-playing games coming in the future. Cyberpunk 2077 will release April 16 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Check our comparator anytime to find it at the best price.

Children of Morta Review

After being delayed for almost a year, roguelike game Children of Morta is finally set to release. Was the wait worth it, or should you look to other roguelikes to fill the void? Check out our review and find out.

Children of Morta Review

Children of Morta follows a family called the Bergsons. They have protected the land of Rhea for ages from a darkness known as the Corruption. You start with the father John as he returns to the families ancient home after encountering the Corruption. When he arrives home, the grandmother confirms his fears: the Corruption has come back, and the family has to stop it. Using portals under the house, the family has to save the spirits and cleanse the world once again.

The game is really about this family and seeing how they handle their obligation to the world. After running a dungeon, a little more is revealed about the characters and you begin to understand peoples place in the family. Young Lucy is a flame mage, but would rather draw then train. Mark, the oldest son, has been away for years seeking harmony and practicing martial arts. It is little details and interactions that the family have with each other that help push you forward when you get stomped in a dungeon. I finished the last fight in just under 20 hours, but I still had plenty of side content I could do.

When you begin, you have access to John, a sword and shield fighter, and his oldest daughter, who uses a bow. The pickings at first are slim, but after a few hours, you have access the rest of the family and their skills. Each of them plays differently, and while I had favorites, all of them are powerful in their own right. John can block attacks, Linda can move and shoot, Mark dashes to his opponents to lock them down quickly, and Joey swings a massive maul from side to side for AoE hits. As much as I preferred to play Mark, Linda is the one who killed every boss I came across in the first zone.

Children Of Morta Honest Review

The combat itself is fast-paced, impactful, and requires you to watch the entire screen. Even while blocking with John, the enemy mages will put a fire under his feet. While dashing around with Mark, you might get snared by a spider or shot by a goblin archer. It requires you to be paying attention all the time, and when you mess up, it hurts. To counter all this pain, you get rewarded for killstreaks. Starting at 10 and going up to who knows how high, 112 is my highest; you are rewarded with gold for chaining kills. The kill meter expires fast, like five seconds fast. So on top of everything else going on you have that to worry about as well.

Dungeons in Child of Morta are broken up into sections, and each section has a boss. Like most roguelikes, you are looking for power-ups, gold, and extra items. Upon death, you lose your buffs and additional items but keep gold and exp. On top of this, you are exploring the zones for side quests and lore as well. An early mission, for instance, …

How To Catch Fish In RE: Legend

How To Catch Fish In RE Legend
Fishing is a challenging mini-game, it can be tough to learn. This How To Catch Fish In RE: Legend guide explains how the mini-game works so you can learn the best techniques for catching fish to add to your ponds at the farm, sell on to the village, or cook up to catch other creatures.

We’ve already gone over the art of where to fish in RE: Legend, so be sure to check that out if you’re struggling to find fishing locations. Once you’ve got your favorite spot, your rod ready, and plenty of time, it’s all down to mastering the mini-game. It’s a pretty simple system but seldom explained in the game.

How To Catch Fish In RE: Legend

The first stage is casting your line. Simply stand by the waters edge holding your rod. As long as you’re in a fishing location, you’ll see the fishing icon overhead. Simply press the button to cast and you’re good to go. Once the line is in the water the fish will nibble. Usually, after the third nibble, you press the button again and you will hook the fish. After this part, there are two key areas to focus on.

When you are fishing, pay attention to the two bars. The top bar, represented by the rod, is your rods durability. If this reaches the maximum amount, turning red, the rod will break and you will lose the catch. The other bar, with the fish icon, is the fishes stamina. You need to reduce that to 0 to catch the fish.

Reeling In Fish

Reeling In Fish
During this stage you will notice there is no additional information on the screen apart from the two bars. During this part of the fishing mini-game, you hold the button to reel in the fish. As the fishes stamina drops, your rod durability gets worse. Try to balance it, reel in the fish but don’t go too high on the rod bar.

Fish Resistance

Fish Resistance
Randomly during fishing, the fish will resist. This is visualized by arrow icons that appear near the fish. You must hold the corresponding arrow. For example, on the image above, I had to hold up to ensure the fish didn’t escape. Do not reel in at this stage, the line will break very quickly. As you hold down the arrows, your rod durability improves. Continue switching between reeling and controlling.

That’s How To Catch Fish In RE: Legend.

Where & How To Fish In RE Legend
Fishing is a fun and rewarding mini-game in RE: Legend but it’s not explained well. This Where & How To Fish In RE: Legend guide will tell you everything you need to know for where to find fish and how to catch them in the game.

You receive a fishing rod right at the start of the game, and you don’t require any bait in RE: Legend. Awesome, right? However, despite receiving the rod very early, you are not able to fish until you follow the main story far enough so that you’re able to leave the town and enter the Coastal map.

Where & How To Fish In RE: Legend

Although both the town and Coastal map are awash with bodies of water, you cannot fish in most of them. In RE: Legend, you are only able to fish in very specific locations. Obviously you need water, but there also has to be a fish visible in the area and the fishing icon above your head.

Fishing Location #1
Fishing Location #1
This first one is on Puffy Path. You must complete the story quest to stop the two sides fighting. Once that is complete you can access this area. Check the body of water on the Western edge of Puffy Path.
Fishing Location #2
Fishing Location #2
You can find the second location at Pincer Patch, East of the Campsite. On the far Eastern edge of the area there is a body of water. You can fish there.

There are, of course, more fishing areas to discover as you progress but introducing you to these first two should give you enough information to identify future fishing spots as you progress. Once you have found the fish, it’s as simple as equipping a rod and casting it into the water. If you’re struggling with the mini-game, check out our guide on how to catch fish in RE: Legend.

Iron Ore is an advanced material in RE: Legend used for gear, weapons, equipment, and quests. This guide tells you Where To Find Iron Ore In RE: Legend so you can complete some of the starting quests, upgrade your gear, and tackle some of the games more challenging content.

Much like finding Copper Ore, locating Iron Ore can be a slow task. There’s very likely mines and stuff later, to make collecting ores easier, but at the start of the game, you’re limited to just a few locations.

Where To Find Iron Ore In RE: Legend

Firstly, once you have access to the Coastal map, head there. Travel to the far West to Pruni Reef. There’s a small cave here, Pruni Cave, deep inside the cave is both a Copper and Iron Ore node. They are marked by an orange color on the mini-map.

It’s a good idea to increase your mining stat so you can maximize the amount of iron you receive each time. There are better spots for more Iron Ore later in the game but for the early quest, a couple of visits here should do the trick.
