Overwatch presents a new hero

It seems that Overwatch doesn´t give up on the struggle for maintaining a good position in the already-crowded competitive first-person shooter market. Adding more content to the game seems to be the chosen path and Activision Blizzard has announced that a new character will join the ranks of the international task force. It´s been not too long since Brigitte and Ashe made their apparition and now it´s the turn of Baptiste.

Baptiste is an offensive support character that will boost the performance of his teammates with his gadgets. He is a combat medic from Haiti that originally was a member of a military group called The Caribbean coalition, but his abilities caught the attention of Talon and he was recruited to bolster the ranks of the organization. After a while, he realized that the type of activities that Talon was immersed in were not his cup of tea, and he decided to leave them. That led to a manhunt where Baptiste had to deal with several Talon agents, so going back to the organization is not an option anymore, even if he changed his mind.

Baptiste

Nothing has been revealed from Baptiste’s skills but we expect that he will be hitting the public test realm in a few days, so if you want to take a look at his skill set before he comes to live server you should do it there. we expect him to have decent offensive capabilities while being able to support his allies with heals, being sort of a DPS-support hybrid able to fulfill both roles in any given situation, what would give you a lot of flexibility and tactical options.

Devotion removed from Steam, Red Candles Games issued a statement

Devotion removed from Steam

Released last February 19, Devotion got positive reviews and hundreds of thousands of viewers on Twitch. It’s safe to say that Devotion got the traction upon the release. But not long after that, Devotion faced criticisms from Chinese players due to a piece of art that according to them is mocking their president, Xi Jinping. Due to that, their game was the victim of a massive review-bombing campaign and now it only has 40{c4f60b86d58bd0bb42d7d202d81274380459a85a5d81d139dd8bd0c48cc6a02e} of positive reviews. The negative reviews are also affecting Detention (Devotion’s predecessor) that is now down to only 30{c4f60b86d58bd0bb42d7d202d81274380459a85a5d81d139dd8bd0c48cc6a02e} positive reviews.

Devotion’s Art material in question

This issue is nothing new since memes of Winnie the Pooh mocking Jinping has been around the Internet for a while. In fact, the movie Christopher Robin was banned in China last year because of a similar reason.

Devotion’s developer, Red Candle Games first addressed the issue and released a statement last February 23rd. They claimed that it was a placeholder that was taken down and replaced since the evening of February 21st and that they were taking full responsibility for the incident. They also emphasized that this is purely by accident and that it’s never their intention to harm any individual’s integrity.

Seemingly discontented with their previous explanation, Red Candle Games posted a follow-up statement the next day. They apologized to the players and said that the art material was released without the knowledge of everyone in the team. They only became aware of its existence when a player privately reported what’s written on the art material. They immediately took action and replaced the art material within an hour.

Their explanations went to the deaf ears of angry fans. The developer’s Weibo account has been shut down, Devotion’s Steam store page is now nowhere to be found, and players wouldn’t be able to buy it anymore. All of the Devotion’s related content have been removed from their YouTube channel as well.

Three hours after the removal, Red Candles released another statement. In their About the Store Page, they said that the removal was due to technical issues and it won’t be up on Steam until a complete QA check is done. No new developments have been released yet so let’s all wait for further announcements as to when Devotion is coming back.

Xbox has been around for a long time and no major changes have been added to its system yet. However, there has been a considerable number of fixes made to assure that Xbox users will have a better playing experience. Microsoft is aiming to provide quality play for its users and decided to address the feedback and complaints that they’ve been getting. you cna check the new features coming this Spring right below.

Changes to come to Xbox Insiders

According to Microsoft, users will now able to access quest programs in their dashboard and browse all their quests from My Profile. Aside from streamlining Xbox Game Pass Quests, Microsoft is also streamlining the messages by adding a Message Request feature so that user can add and see their friends’ messages and ignore messages from people they don’t know.

Fortnite, Season 8: what’s coming?

A new season is about to start in Fortnite, and Epic Games has decided to share a bit of information about it on the AMA that was organized last Friday on Reddit. Users were able to ask questions to several developers.

From the huge number of questions they answered, you can get an idea of what´s coming and what is definitely not coming to the game on Season 8. The first thing to note is that you can already forget about seeing double shotguns and planes in the game for a while. They are willing to add a new single-occupancy vehicle, but they didn’t give any hint about what it could be. Maybe it´s something like the hoverboard? We will have to wait until the new season starts on Thursday to find out more on that matter. Improvements to the sounds and better visuals that make characters easier to spot are on the “to do” list too.

Fortnite- Hoverboard

But what really shook the hive and got all players speculating through the weekend was the answer of an Epic Games producer when he was asked if they were thinking of new mechanics like respawning.

“We’ve been considering this mechanic for a while and have been exploring it. Want to make sure we give it the time it needs and fully understand its impact on the game as a whole. Look for further updates during Season 8.”

Boom! Respawning in a Battle Royale game? That goes in the opposite direction of what a BR should be. If they really implement something like that, wouldn´t Fortnite stop having exactly the type of gameplay that has made it so popular to become something else? This answer has been received with mixed feelings on the player base and has been the main theme for all the discussions about the game through the weekend. We have known today that Fortnite’s revenues have dropped by 50{c4f60b86d58bd0bb42d7d202d81274380459a85a5d81d139dd8bd0c48cc6a02e} on all platforms during the last month, and it would be very easy to say that it could have been partially caused for the apparition of Apex Legends in the market. Maybe that´s the reason for Epic Games to consider such an unexpected and drastic change to the core mechanics of Fortnite.

Reasons aside, we will have to wait a little longer before we know the whole list of changes coming to the game with Season 8 and what kind of impact they will have on Fortnite. Until that happens, we will keep you updated with any news.

Dead or Alive 6: Deluxe demo available today

While the release of the next installment of the Dead or Alive series, developed by Team Ninja and published by Koei Tecmo, is coming soon, you will be able to try it free for 2 days. Indeed, Dead or Alive 6, after being postponed, will be released on March 1st on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. And it is through a tweet published by Koei Tecmo that we learned that a deluxe demo, acting as an open beta, will be held from February 22 to 25 on PS4 and Xbox One for PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold subscribers. The demo is available right now.

In the last few weeks, several trailers have been published to present the different characters of Dead or Alive 6. If you already have your favorites, here is good news. In this Deluxe demo, the 24 characters of the game will be playable! As for the rest of the content, you can have a preview of the story mode, however, only the intro will be available, not to spoil the players we imagine. You will also have plenty of time to try the different characters in the training mode, that includes a tutorial and a free training mode, as well as the “combo challenge” and the “command training”. Finally, if this demo is reserved for players with a subscription, it’s not for nothing, because you can also try the multiplayer during online games.

Dead or Alive 6 – Jann Lee VS Zack

Be aware that Team Ninja warns us on its official website that “The online versus mode of this” Deluxe Demo “will include only a limited number of features and will therefore be different from the final product”. This is the opportunity to discover Dead or Alive 6 as a whole, while keeping some surprises for the official release.

And to find Dead or Alive 6 at the best price, whatever your platform is, just go to our comparator.

A full list of Jump Force DLC Characters has been leaked

Jump Force by Bandai Namco

Jump Force
is a massive manga crossover that features most of your favorite anime heroes. It offers you forty-two playable characters from the most famous series in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, and will also have nine extra characters that will be added to the game through DLC, coming this May. Many fans have been speculating about who the new characters will be and they are already eagerly waiting for their release.

It could have been a long wait until their names were made public if not for a data miner named SergioM3 who leaked the full list of the Jump Force DLC characters. It hasn’t been a full week since the game launched but miners like Sergio just couldn’t keep their hands off and had to know who are the possible Jump Force DLC characters.

SergioM3 managed to datamine the game’s files after the 1.03 update. There, he found the list of the DLC characters neatly stacked. The nine characters are as follows:

Jump Force Character Pass coming this May

  • Trafalgar D. Water Law (One Piece)
  • Madara Uchiha (Naruto)
  • Buu (Dragon Ball Z)
  • Biscuit Krueger (Hunter x Hunter)
  • Katsugi Bakugo (My Hero Academia)
  • All Might (My Hero Academia)
  • Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez (Bleach)
  • Hitsugaya Toshiro (Bleach)
  • Set Kaiba (Yu-Gi-Oh!)

Nonetheless, this leak has caused some problems among players. Some fans find the list satisfying enough while others stopped playing it because their favorite characters aren’t added as part of the Jump Force DLC characters. Everything is a still a rumor until Bandai Namco releases their official statement but looking at the video by SergioM3, it does look pretty convincing.

Regardless of the list, you should remember that if you bought the Ultimate Edition of the game you will get all the nine Jump Force DLC characters for free but if you have the standard edition, you will need to purchase the Character Pass to get those extra characters.
Take a look at our comparator to know that you are getting the best price for your favorite games.

Thimbleweed Park is free on Epic Games Store

Fortnite creators have a good habit of giving away free games every now and then through their gaming platform. Super Meat Boy and Subnautica have been a couple of examples since they started with this policy, but now it´s the turn of a new title. You can get Thimbleweed Park on Epic Games Store already, completely free of charge. All you need to do is visit the store page, log in with your account or create a new one if you don’t have one, and then claim the game. It will be added to your list of games permanently so you can install and play it anytime you want.

Thimbleweed Park is a third-person graphic adventure with a style similar to classic games like Maniac Mansion or Day of the Tentacle. The game takes place in an unfrequented town that shares the name of the game. Thimbleweed Park seems to be your average little town where nothing happens, but things get complicated when a corpse appears floating in the river. FBI agents Ray and Reyes are sent to investigate the murder. When they arrive at the place and start talking to the inhabitants, they realize that there is far more than what they expected behind this crime and that in Thimbleweed Park, no matter how tranquil the place seems to be, everyone has secrets they want to hide.

Thimbleweed Park is already available to be claimed for free on Epic Games Store, and it will stay like that until March 7, 2019. You have enough time to decide if you want it or not. After that, a new title will replace it. In this case, it will be Slime Rancher, a first-person shooter where you will have to fight and capture slimes.

Anthem Updates: Load Times, Challenges, and Patch Notes Revealed

BioWare’s Anthem, February 22nd

Anthem is coming out for all players before the end of the week but it is already live for those with early access. BioWare has already revealed that Anthem will have a day one update that will address the issues and complaints that some players are still experiencing. The list of the things to be changed in Anthem ranges from performance to UI, and it even includes some glitches during missions. This list of changes and updates is a bit too long and some are questioning EA’s decision of releasing it this month in the first place. They could probably use their time to work and polish it a bit more before they drop it on us. But oh well, that’s their choice to make.

Even with the length of the patch notes being huge, the update focuses mainly on just a few main areas. It fixes the problem with endless loading screens that some players were getting, and it also reduces the loading times. It addresses numerous problems that were causing players to get disconnected during the game. The tracking of missions, challenges, and achievements seems to be working properly now. Finally, it lets you skip some cinematics after the missions, speeding up things a bit.

If you want, you can check the whole list of specific changes included in the patch here, but with so many updates and improvements one could be surprised if Anthem isn’t the best game in the bunch this month. Still, for avid Anthem gamers out there, check out our comparator to see the best deal available for you.

The Division 2 is having a Technical Test for PC

Starting today and finishing tomorrow Friday, February 22, Ubisoft will do some extra testing on Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, exclusive to selected PC users. This technical test phase probably will be used to see if the fixes they have done after the private beta from earlier this month work properly. It will also serve as preparation to offer a smoother experience to the players participating in the Open Beta that will be held on the beginning of March and that was announced a few days ago.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 – Agents on the march

The test will feature content similar to the one players experienced during the private beta. Photo Mode, Endgame, and Conflict will not be available for players to try so they will be restricted to two main story and five side missions. Players will not be allowed to invite their friends to form a group either. The invitations to the event will be assigned randomly, and Ubisoft will contact the chosen ones via email. It is restricted to PC, so if you were waiting to try it on other platforms you are out of luck, and you will have to wait for the Open Beta.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 – Open Beta Announcement

On the good side of the matter, the NDA has been lifted for this event, so if you are eager to watch more Tom Clancy´s The Division 2 gameplay, we are sure that there will be a lot of videos popping up through the weekend. If you want to find the best price for the game on any platform, you can visit our comparator anytime.
