There were already vague rumors about the possibility of a new DLC for Borderlands 2, but so far nothing very credible, especially since the title was released seven years ago. Well, as crazy as it sounds, it seems like it is. And the source is quite reliable since it is on the card Steam of Borderlands 2 where the info briefly appeared. You don´t need to rush and go checking since the record has been removed already, but not fast enough that nobody notices.

Borderlands 2: Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary

This DLC would be called Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary, and it would serve as the connection between Borderlands 2 and the next episode. But there is still more. This new DLC would propose new quests, new zones, and weapons, but also new bosses and types of enemies. The maximum level would be raised to 80, compared to the 50 of the base game and the 72 in the DLCs contained in the Season Pass. However new players could start directly at level 30. And we kept the best for the end because the most astonishing and delightful information is that this DLC for Borderlands 2 would be released on June 9, in just three days, and would be totally free! Here is the description of the DLC that was seen on the Steam page:

“Return to the award-winning shooter-looter for a new adventure that sets the stage for the upcoming Borderlands 3. Sanctuary is under siege, the Vault’s map has been stolen and a toxic gas is poisoning Pandora. Fight new bosses, explore new zones, get new loot (including an entirely new tier beyond Legendary) and join up with Lilith and the Crimson Raiders to take on a deranged villain hell-bent on ruling the planet”

Keep in mind that nothing has been officially confirmed by Gearbox or 2K Games at the moment, but given the source of this leak, it’s a safe bet, especially considering that we are less than a week away from E3.

In the meantime, we leave you with a few screenshots of Borderlands 2: Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary.
