Massive Red Dead Online Update Adds Poker, Hostility System, Anti-Grief Tools & More

Massive Red Dead Online Update Adds Poker, Hostility System, Anti-Grief Tools & More
Rockstar Games today announced the release of a massive new update for Red Dead Online that includes a flurry of new features and content, including brand new co-op missions, new Free Roam activities, play style support for passive and aggressive play and finally, the ability to play poker online.

Brand New Cooperative Missions

Brand New Cooperative Missions

Red Dead Online’s story was brief but exciting, and that saga expands today with the addition of brand new missions in the continued story surrounding Jessica LeClerk. Following the battle of Fort Mercer, players will have the opportunity to saddle up and continue on the trail in a new branching feature that allows for both honorable and dishonorable styles of play.

Those looking to walk the line of the righteous will find the deadly Del Lobos gang standing in their path while players that enjoy the seedier side of cowboy life will find themselves knee deep in a high-stakes robber alongside Samson Finch.

Free Roam Missions

Free Roam Missions

Several of Red Dead Redemption 2’s characters will make an appearance in a selection of new Free Roam missions for Red Dead Online. Head down to the Bayou to work alongside Thomas the Skiff Captain or reminisce of your days on the farm with some work alongside Aberdeen’s finest Pig Farmers.

Playing Styles & Anti-Grief

Playing Styles & Anti-Grief

Arguably one of the key points of today’s massive update is the level of support introduced for players of all play styles. Griefing has been a huge problem in Red Dead Online, one that was all too prevalent in GTA Online as well. Today’s new update hopes to combat much of the negative side of the online nature of the game with two additions.

First, players are now able to choose between Offensive and Defensive playing styles found in the Player Menu. The default setting is Offensive and works much as you assume it would. Players marked Offensive are free to participate in any hostile contact toward other players, much like the average player is now.

The flip side of this feature, Defensive, adds a way for players to explore a far less aggressive and cut-throat online Red Dead Online experience. Marked by a visible shield, defensive players will not be involved in Free Roam PvP missions, take reduced damage from enemy players and are immune to much of the major griefing tools such as the Lasso, execution, and deadly auto-aim.

Furthermore, several changes have been made to the radar to make identifying and avoiding aggressive players a more fluid and intuitive experience. Aggressive players can still participate in the game much in the same way before, but now against other aggressive players and not poor Barry who’s just looking to hunt some rabbits and enjoy a bit of a nature walk. Also, players will no longer receive bounty increases or hostility effects for defending themselves against aggressive players.

Check the Hostility menu in the Player Menu for more details on your hostility towards other players and the effect it has on your adventure.

Poker, Dynamic Events, New Gear & More

Poker, Dynamic Events, New Gear & More

Personally, my favorite part of today’s Red Dead Online update is the addition of poker. Until now poker tables scattered throughout the game served as a mere memory of more exciting times but now, players …

The Division 2’s Title Update 3 is finally out

The long-awaited Title Update 3 is here after a month of delay.

Ubisoft kept its word and released The Division 2’s Title Update 3 today. The develope announced that the servers will shut down for scheduled maintenance at 3:30 AM EDT/12:30AM PDT/9:30 CEST. The shutdown lasted for three hours and after which the Title Update 3 rolled out. Players can now download the update which is approximately 6.5 GB.

This is by far the biggest post-launch update for the game so far and thus a major milestone for The Division 2 . The update’s main addition is the first ever 8-player raid, Operation Dark Hours. Even though it´s already in the game you still will have to wait until it becomes playable. Ubisoft said that this delay is meant to give players the time to ready themselves, gear up, and sort their builds. It’s also a good time to explore everything that came along in The Division 2’s Title Update 3.

What else is new in Division 2’s Title Update 3?

Today’s patch also increased the cap for Receiver Component and Protective Fabric crafting materials by 200, turned Inaya al-Khaliq into a Crafting Vendor and added a project icon in order to reflect the use of The Confidential Dear Set intel item.

There are also balance tweaks and bug fixes in the update. The Text Chat has been improved and various UI and audio improvements are made to the Living World activities. Players will also be glad to see a new Mission feature called Post Mission Activity Summary.

New skins, weapons, outfits, and more!

Along with Operation Dark Hours, there are also two new additions: the Classified Assignment: The Fall of DC includes exclusive missions for players that own the Year 1 Pass. Players will have the chance to discover and complete missions during the fall of DC.
The other one is the New Apparel Event: Dark Hours, with new skins, outfits, weapons, and masks.

You can play the game on PS4, PC, and Xbox One now. Check out our comparator for the best deals on The Division 2.

To mark its release on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on June 25, SNK has released a new “Samurai Shodown 101” trailer to get players up to speed.

The trailer, which can be seen below, takes a look at the new era of samurais. New information about the upcoming title, along with unrevealed concepts like the Dojo Mode, are also covered.

Samurai Shodown – Return of a Legend

Koichi Toyama, Company President at SNK, also shared some good news:

“We’re extremely excited to finally confirm that June 25th will see the much anticipated return of Samurai Shodown – one of the founding figures of the fighting genre. As a thank you to the fans who have stuck with us during the long wait between the franchise installments, we’re pleased to offer the first 6 months of DLC completely free of charge to anyone who buys the game and redeems the game’s season pass within the first week of release, which will include four new fighters.”

SNK Lead Producer, Yasuyuki Oda, added:

“Dojo Mode has been a franchise aspiration for the team for some time now and an evolution to the fighting genre that we’re very proud of. Alice in Stardom Review

Crystal Game Works lets all would-be starlets shine with their new visual novel Alice in Stardom. Putting players in the shoes of an intern-turned-idol, does this title prove to be the next big sensation?

Alice in Stardom Review

The protagonist Alice Carroll begins this tale with humble beginnings. She’s working her butt off for the Supernova singing contest, and is looked down upon by the Director and others. Everything seems to be in the pits, until the host Jacques Bellevance takes a shine to her and has her enter the competition. From there, she is whisked away with three other girls to a mansion, and must compete against them to become the next pop sensation.

It’s a fluffy tale, one that focuses more on cute than depth. Players will get a chance to know more about rival singers Mary Viswanathan, Taylor Warren, and Raisa Cherenkov (also known as Cherry), but other than some brief exchanges regarding the drama in their lives, topics tend to skew on the side of light. Expect to hear about their love of animals, their history with the setup design at concerts, and other topics. Playthroughs may vary from person to person, but a bombshell that was drastically different from the rest of the game was dropped on us near the end that was a bit jarring. It’s not bad, but it struck a different tone – whether that matters is up to the player.

As they hang around their posh surroundings between competitions, players can learn about characters through brief interactions. The mall, makeup room, recording studio, and other locales can all be chosen from, and there are some choices that can be made when chatting with others. Don’t expect lengthy dialog trees, but a decent way to dive into certain subjects. It’s not the most robust system, but it’s welcome nonetheless.

Alice in Stardom - Gamers Heroes

When it’s time for Alice to perform, some player interaction is required. The lyrics appear on the screen, and players must click them in the order that they appear before they disappear. It’s pretty easy, but it adds a level of interactivity that is welcome.

Note that the art style present in this game will not appeal to everyone. Character designs are basic and get the job done, but some backgrounds are somewhat poorly drawn. In addition, the songs from the other singers are never played, and it is just glossed over. It’s not a deal breaker, but it doesn’t make for the most polished experience.

Those looking to rise the ranks and get to the top should expect to play Alice in Stardom for around an hour and a half. There are a handful of achievements tied to the story, so those looking to add something to their profile can most certainly do so here.

Alice in Stardom is a lighthearted visual novel that will appear for those looking for something a bit more sugary. Don’t expect a big budget or a tome of text – rather, come in with an open mind and you’ll come out satisfied.

This review of Alice in Stardom was done on the PC. A code was provided by the publisher, but the game is available for free.

Red Dead Online launch is getting closer

It’s a fact that Red Dead Redemption 2 has been one of the big hits of 2018. The action-adventure from Take-Two and Rockstar Games managed to get the attention of the public with highly-detailed graphics and a vast open world where the players can experience all the thrill of one of the most legendary periods in the history in a fictionalized version of the Western U.S.

Red Dead Redemption 2 offers you precisely what you would expect if you were to be the protagonist of a Western: lots of action, gunfights, and an epic story. But when the story comes to an end, the game still has a whole world of opportunities waiting for you, and it plans to go to the next level adding multiplayer to the title with Red Dead Online.

Red Dead Online – About to assalut an encampment

Red Dead Online, the multiplayer part of Red Dead Redemption 2, was announced shortly after the game was launched, and not long after that many players have been able to experience it during the beta period. The final results of that beta are going to come out soon. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick revealed yesterday that Red Dead Online beta period would be finished before the end of June. That would leave us with a lot of extra content to be added to the game along with the multiplayer features when it launches.

No release date has been confirmed for Red Dead Online features going live, so we can only speculate about if they will be available as soon as the beta ends. That´s what is likely to happen because after all, anyone that owns Red Dead Redemption 2 has been able to participate in the beta since it started in November, and it wouldn´t make much sense to cut those players from the gameplay they have been experiencing for more than half a year.
If we consider that there have been a lot of rumors lately saying that the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 might be coming out soon, it makes sense that it would be launched along with Red Dead Online, but that is yet to be confirmed by Rockstar Games.

Until there is an official confirmation about those matters, you can keep enjoying Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online beta on your PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As usual, you can find the best prices for Red Dead Redemption 2 through our comparator.

Descenders Review – Skylined

Story 321977151

The rogue-likes and rogue-lites are finally dying down.

You’d think after something like NeuroVoider, or Dead Cells, that’d be it, but no, you still get the occasional curveball of top-down tedium or side-scrolling smattering with miscreant merchants. Today however? I think we’ve found another nice peak, and ironically, it’s called Descenders.

This is the sophomore title from Dutch studio RageSquid, who released Descenders onto various early access fronts back in 2018. RageSquid first made their name known with Action Henk, a weird Trials-esque game with more of an emphasis on platforming, and now they’ve released todays BMXing beast with the help of No More Robots, publishers of recent kitsch darling Hypnospace Outlaw. More than a sign of quality.

A screenshot of Descenders showcasing the player speeding down a straight dirt path.

There’s no plot to speak of, unless you want to bring up the usual Rogue-like schtick… In fact, lets do that. You’re the BMX Bandit, former partner of Angel Summoner, who has been imprisoned on top of the Scottish Highlands after the evil scoot master Jeremy Corbyn thinks you’re too cool to be around people. After popping a wheelie to kick some dirt into the guards face, you escape your cell and begin your escape.

In all seriousness, RageSquid have genuinely created a small bite-size rogue-lite in the form of a simple extreme sport, and that’s downhill off-road BMX. From your beginning in the Highlands, to your cataclysmic crashing through the Canyon, to the penultimate perilous precision prerequisites in the Peaks, it’s all fast all the time, all with the likes of procedural generation and temporary upgrades.

Gameplay is a simple mix between the likes of Trials, and the ollie-ing mechanics of Skate 3. You use the Right and Left triggers to accelerate and brake respectively, with the right stick controlling your “pumping” along with your bunny hopping. This all controls how you’d expect in a 3D format: Like a bloody dream, with the weight and terrifying uncontrollable feel of the bike being felt in full force as you barrel down certain hills and areas with nothing on your mind but the sweet release of death.

A screenshot of Descenders showcasing the rider attempting to backflip over a forest watch-tower

If you’re feeling exceptionally suicidal, you can always add a bit of flavor to your air-time by pulling off endless flips and spins, in the hopes of getting a high score. It’s not as insanely implemented here as it was in Skate 3, as the tricks are hidden and never expanded upon by the game, which is a shame if you ask me.

If you hold the left bumper and point the right stick in a direction, then you’ll see something more in-line with most skating games, but the game never properly rewards you for using this, outside of one bonus level. Realistically, Descenders has more in common with the N64 classic 1080 Snowboarding more than other obvious examples, with the same focus on dangerous downhill delves, but Descenders finds beauty in simplicity.

Really, it’s the innocence of it all that makes the game such a dead-set winner. It’s what makes the likes of titles like Cooking Mama or Papers, Please so great; it’s tapping into a genre which hasn’t seen a good game– Or a …

Rage 2 Projects Guide

Rage 2 Projects Guide
Projects play a vital role in Rage 2 as both character and story progression. This Rage 2 Projects Guide explains the basics of the Projects system in the game alongside some information on the Organization level of each of the allies you encounter during the main story.

Before you are able to do anything with Project Points, you need to progress through the story. Once you have met Marshall, Loosum and Kvasir, and completed their initial introductory quests, you can begin interacting with the Projects system. Project Points are earned through completing nearly any objective in the Wildlands.

Rage 2 Projects Guide

As you earn Project Points you can choose where to spend them. It doesn’t matter, in regards to progression, so invest the points in the area that best benefits your style of play. Each ally has an Organization level. This is tied to the specific types of activities you complete. For example, finding all the Ark sites will give you a huge boost in reputation with Kvasir. You need to raise each allies Organization level through to level 5 at a certain point in the story.

The Projects themselves are typically passive buffs. Some increase your weapons ammo count while others lets you steal cards and add them to your garage. Explore each tree carefully and choose the options that best suits you.

Rage 2 features a ton of different vehicles, each with their own unique looks and pros in combat. You begin with the Phoenix, a reliable, all-round vehicle that’s decent enough to drive and packs a good punch too. You can unlock a wealth of other vehicles, either through projects or exploration.

Below is a breakdown of how to unlock each of the vehicles we’ve discovered in Rage 2 so far. Many of the vehicles require you Initiate Extended Vehicles Project before you can unlock them, so make sure you have the corresponding Project unlocked.

The vast majority, if not all, of the vehicles are not unique. This means you can find them in multiple places. The places we have listed are areas we’ve visited more than once and found the same vehicles. It’s possible they may be different vehicles that spawn for you.
