I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator Review

After countless years, the man, myth, and legend known only as Colonel Sanders has finally gotten his own dating sim with Psyop’s new visual novel I Love You, Colonel Sanders! Though the title is tongue in cheek by nature, does it manage to double down on this absurd concept with a good story?

I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator Review

As the star of the title, the self-insert player has grand plans ahead of them. As a fresh young face at the University of Cooking School: Academy of Learning, a three day semester awaits the player. This freshman isn’t going solo though – the awkward Miriam, rivals Van Van the Man Man and Aeshleigh, and doggy professor Sprinkles have all found a way to insert themselves into his journey.

Of course, none of these denizens compare to Colonel Sanders himself. A fellow student at the academy, he has a dream to create a chain of chicken restaurants to bring joy to the world and make up for his past misdeeds. With his signature recipe of 11 herbs and spices, he is a star pupil that everybody looks up to – especially the player.

This certainly sounds like a recipe for some over-the-top hijinks, but sadly the humor misses the mark. It’s perfectly fine that the game focuses on the absurd, but being told that a spork monster used to be a chihuahua or seeing a dog double as a DJ lacks a punchline. The end result is an experience that feels forced – though it is original, it also lacks the humor one would expect. Plot threads also fizzle out without any concrete conclusions, serving only as an awkward offside and nothing more.

Dialog options do not fare much better. True to the genre, players will be able to choose from a number of different options throughout play to guide the player along. The chance to make the next move with the Colonel is most certainly there, but smaller choices like the ability to sample different treats is present and accounted for as well. The game also takes the formula and applies it to pop quizzes and turn-based battles straight out of Final Fantasy, adding a bit of flavor to this dish.

There’s just one problem though – it is far too easy to get into a fail state. Some choices make sense – you wouldn’t expect to proceed if you neg your love interest. However, simply choosing a wrong treat for somebody is enough to put your playthrough to a halt. It gets frustrating fast, and the fact that the game often resets you to a point fairly far back means that the same dialog will appear multiple times. A bit of leniency, or at the very least something a bit less obtuse, would have alleviated this frustration a considerable amount.

Outside of dialog, players will also be able to navigate an area by clicking on certain objects. Though brief, this section is certainly welcome in a game as linear as this one.

Don’t expect to spend hours of time wooing the Colonel’s heart however; we were able to finish I Love You, Colonel Sanders! in a scant 45 minutes. Though we are fast …

Code Vein shows very good numbers after release

Bandai Namco must be quite happy because of the very positive reception that the players have given Code Vein. Their action role-playing game is showing very good numbers after it was released last Friday, especially on Steam. Many people have compared this game with the original Dark Souls, and even if the gameplay of both has some similarities it seems that Code Vein is doing as well as From Software’s adventure, reaching 33,804 concurrent players, just a couple of days after its release. Maybe even better, if you consider that to reach those numbers you have to count in Dark Soul and Dark Souls – Prepare to Die edition.

We don’t know if the dystopian universe of Code Vein and its vampire-like Revenants are more appealing to the players than the minimalist storytelling from Dark Souls, but the RPG developed by the creators of the God Eater saga is doing quite well so far.

Despite the comparisons between both games, Code Vein offers you challenging combat and the possibility of teaming up with an AI-controlled character or another player for cooperative gameplay. The use of diverse “Gifts” to empower your combat skills and blood draining weapons opens up a plethora of strategies in combat against the Lost.

If you add to those features a detailed character creation tool and a thrilling story that will get you embarked on a journey to recover your lost memories and discover what lies behind the current state of the world, Code Vein turns out to be a great adventure with its own style that has nothing to envy from other games of the genre.

Code Vein – Character Creation

If you haven’t tried Code Vein yet, you can find the best price to purchase it through our comparator. The game is already available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Conan Exiles will have mounted combat

Fighting on horseback is something that definitely fits a game based on the mythology created by Robert E. Howard. In the novels, the comics, and the films, we are used to finding warriors riding horses and charging into combat wielding melee weapons. If Conan Exiles wants to represent combat during the Hyborian Age in the best possible way, mounted combat is something that is definitely a must-have. Considering that it’s also a feature that players have been asking for since the game was released, it’s about time that Funcom would address their demands and add this feature to the game.

In a survival game like Conan Exiles, mounts will be a very important feature. Apart from letting you navigate through the Exiled Lands much faster, saving your time and resources, not having to get off your horse to defend yourself from attackers can save you from potential surprise attacks. On the other side, it will also allow you to perform devastating lightning strikes against your enemies, adding a new strategic dimension to the combat in Conan Exiles.

Mounted combat will be added to Conan Exiles in a free update that will arrive later this year. We assume that the developers are giving the final touches to the system but as you can see in the following video from the TwitchCon published on Twitter, it seems to be in quite an advanced state so far.

Nothing has been revealed about the cost of the mounts in the game or the way of getting them so we may have to wait until December to see what happens with those. We do not know yet if there will be other types of mounts apart from horses in Conan Exiles but it could be possible considering the lore.

4 External Hard Drives You Can Use With Your iPad

The day has come. We can finally use an external hard drive with our iPad. Isn’t that great? We have to keep in mind that our iPad wasn’t exactly designed for an external drive. Since it’s a portable device, all our files, movies, and photos are meant to be stored in the cloud.

That’s exactly how it is until iPadOS has brought in support for flash drives and hard drives. So, now, we don’t have to rely on the internet to access our files. We can still enjoy the portability of our iPad and all our files without being connected.

Before we get right into the list of the best hard drives for our iPad, here’s something to think about.

There are a few factors to consider when picking the best external hard drive for your iPad: how often you store your files, how many files you store, and how easily you need access to your files. Different types of external hard drives will work better depending on your personal needs.

With an impressive 10-hour battery life and options to stream directly to your Apple TV or to Airplay, the LaCie Fuel is brilliant for allowing easy access to your files for long periods.
