After weeks of silence, Bioware and EA are now revealing the future of Anthem.

BioWare broke the silence over their absence for over a month with a new update for Anthem. Update 1.2.0 is now live and it contains a whole load of fixes. We won’t be writing down everything in this post, but we will provide a basic rundown of the changes and some updates on the missions and free plays. You can visit their site for the full patch notes.

New updates in preparation for Cataclysm

This update is also done to pave way for Cataclysm as stated by EA community manager BW_Darokaz. In the message, he said that the update has hidden content that players won’t be seeing right away but that will prepare things for Cataclysm in the future.

Cataclysm is a world-changing event with new rewards and challenges. It has been delayed along with other Anthem features since EA and BioWare did not want to rush things. They wanted to take their time to be able to consider all the feedback from the players and incorporate it in the game. It wasn’t smooth sailing for BioWare since the release but they are now a hundred percent committed to their newest game. They are also changing their release and development strategies due to the troubles that they faced during Anthem’s launch.

What’s new?

The full patch is about 5GB. On it, features such as free play have been improved. A purple target icon that will show an area with an enemy has been added. When the enemy appears, the purple turns to white. Players can now travel faster to different strider locations in free play too.

Along with the improvements to Free Play, three Emerald Abyss Legendary Missions are also added. Players can now communicate non-verbally with others using emotes. This can be accessed by pressing D-Pad on your controller and B on a PC keyboard. The most awaited update is possibly the fix of ‘Alt’ key issue.

Anthem is already available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One now.
