The fourth GRID installment is on the way.

Awesome cars are coming your way!

Codemasters is bringing back its iconic racing game series after five years of hiatus. According to the company announcement, the fourth installment of the GRID series is launching on September 13, 2019.

Previous GRID games were highly detailed and authentic with a certain level of accessibility. We can expect those same features in the upcoming GRID as well. Chris Smith, GRID game director said that the game will “offer so much variety and depth.” There will be various of modern and classic cars available to drive and the title “will appeal to all types of players, from casual drivers who want to learn, to crazy drivers who want to have serious fun.”

Check out the trailer below.

GRID will have Fernando Alonso, the two-times Formula One world champion. He will serve as a consultant of the game and will be cameoing as well. There will be several races that players have to complete before they finally meet Fernando, and if you beat his team you will have a chance to race against him in his classic Renault Formula One car.

A World Time Attack mode is also included. It features a series of highly modified cars competing for the best lap times in race tracks.

The game will have 12 racing locations with multiple routes, varied weather conditions, and time of the day. GRID will also have six race modes (racing, oval racing, time trial, time attack, skirmish, and hot lap). You will have six main career paths and additional showdown events such as Touring, Stock, Tuner, GT, Invitational, and the Fernando Alonso Challenge.

As you progress in the game you will be rewarded with liveries, player cards, achievements, and driving accolades. You can race against online players or compete against AI. Car damages will affect both the performance and handling.

The new GRID will be playable in PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Until then, you should give GRID Autosport a try if you haven’t already.
