Breakit 2 (17)

September 8th, 2008 by terrypaton, under Action.

Simple! Use the mouse to control the bat and break the bricks. Press space to pause the game. The rest you have to figure out yourself!

Now this was wicked to make (that’s a good thing). To control the ball I used trignometry this time, and improved the hit collision greatly (although there are still some issues with the ball passing through bricks at high speed). I added new power ups and the game has over 40 sound effects. I am more than happy with this little beauty, and very happy with how many people have enjoyed it.
One of the main issues when making a game like this is making it interesting over 50 levels, I’m not really sure this game accomplishes it, but if played in small bursts I think it comes close to being a good game.

You might also find (if your good enough) there’s a sound bite if you hit 35 bricks in a row (without the ball touching the bat), you will hear “Ford Nicholas”,
I put this in as one fan of the game played so much and was so competitive he earned a place in the game! On ya Ford.

When I play this on other sites, I get to level 10 and clear the whole board except 2 “ghost” blocks that the ball goes through instead of breaking. Because those block remain, the game doesn’t think the board is clear. I can’t break the phantom blocks and I can’t go to the next level. Have you fixed this glitch and can you get the internet game sites to put up a good version, please? I really enjoy the game and the way the paddle moves compared to similar style games.

Fun game!! I also found the same glitch. The motion of the paddle is wonderful, is seems that one is playing table tennis.
